The OMNINORM record label is extremely proud to present Big Brother, the debut maxi-single from the artist known as Bong-747. This release is officially approved by the Ministry of Truth, recommended for listening by the Ministry of Love, and is also fully certified by the Thought Police. When creating this record, the actual theses developed by the participants in the momentous Congress of the Inner Party were taken into account. Remember, only those who bought and constantly listened to the Bong-747 sound recordings will not be considered unpersons, unlike consumers of some kinds of questionable and harmful music genres.
 
As follows from the artist's biography, which can be found on page 344 of the list of musicians, writers, and poets officially approved by the Ministry of Truth, in his youth Bong-747 sang in the order-bearing choir named after Big Brother. Since the mid-nineties, he participated in several musical projects of a patriotic orientation and performed in front of the military personnel of the vanguard garrisons of our Glorious and Victorious Army.
 
The maxi-single contains the original version of Big Brother music piece, as well as five remixes of it. In the course of numerous experiments carried out by experts from the Ministry of Plenty, it was scientifically proven that listening to this release helps to boost labor productivity in factories of the military-industrial complex and increase milk yield in cattle. The Ministry of Peace, in its turn, recommends listening to this recording at official party meetings and during military maneuvers at training grounds for armored forces, especially so during the nation’s Hate Week.

Here in Belarus, we're experiencing true fascism – in 2020. During country-wide peaceful protests that followed the recent presidential elections, the Belarusian OMON – a special police unit run by the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs – shot at, brutally assaulted and arrested peaceful protesters.

​Those who were arrested told of inhuman detention conditions. Groups of up to 125 people were forced to share 5 x 5-metre cells, often standing for hours. When they couldn't stand anymore, they sat on the floor and lost consciousness due to the lack of air. The OMON often beat protestors in isolation – they urinated on them, sprayed gas into their faces in the cells, and denied them food. They provided a single litre bottle of water for a group of 60–100 people. Some of the protestors were beaten to such an extent that the OMON didn't release them through the main entrance where relatives and volunteers were waiting, but used an ambulance to take them out.

​For the people of Belarus, this level of brutality and fascism represented the final straw. The whole of Belarus left their homes and factory to strike in protest against OMON's violence.

Earlier in the year, I was commissioned to a piece of anti-war music based on Shostakovich's 7th Symphony. I called the piece The Hate and it was performed in March 2020 with the Altana dance group directed by Anna Korzik. The composition and performance has turned out to be prophetic. The recurring theme of the album can be described as a soundtrack to the Belarusian protests – with gun shots, grenade explosions and car horns. There is a part based on the sound of human torture, and another part that represents sorrow for the lost.

The mood of the composition mirrors exactly what's happening in Belarus today. The hate of the OMON is now being transformed into the hate of the population of Belarus to the regime of president-dictator Alexander Lukashenko. The photo we used for the artwork was taken from the performance by photo-journalist photographer Tanya Kapitonova. During the protests, a grenade exploded next to her and she suffered contusion – this happened just five minutes walk from my house.

All proceeds from the sale of The Hate will go to support the victims of violent repressions in Belarus, following the recent presidential elections.
