Good afternoon FOCUS family, Welcome to the latest addition of Series 2. This Month in the hot seat I have Alister Wynne AKA Swyndla hailing from Oxford. I fired over a few questions to Ali and here is what he had to say. 

From first listening to a rave tape, I was instantly hooked on this new sound. Fast forward a few years later, I ended up meeting with a group of friends who had decks and started on the path of learning to Dj. After buying a set of broken 1210s and scouring the local record shops for the latest DnB vinyl bangers where I made new friends. After attending many free parties me and my friends decided to get a sound system together called Koalition and start parties in the countryside, Warehouse's and clubs of the local, wider area. After being noticed while playing at parties I was given the opportunity to play for Rawdio and various other festivals, supporting some of my favourite artists.
An old friend came back into my life who shared my passion for Drum and Bass Dj Magnum. We then met another couple of local Mc's Ricky D and Flex and was given the opportunity to play at Dose, Rough tempo and Twenty 20 studio to do various livestreams together. 
Now we form a four piece collective True F'rms, which stands for the True as in True to the scene and Frms is made up from our names Flex, Ricky d Magnum and Swyndla. As for everyone lockdown has been hard and kept True F'rms apart, however the light is now at the end of the tunnel and True F'rms will be back out doing what they love.

I have watched a few livestreams from Swyndla in Lockdown and he is a quality selector, you can tell that by listening to his sets, It's awesome to see him become part of the FOCUS family and It's an honour to upload a mix from him.

FOCUS 022 - Swyndla

Released just over 2 years ago, Origin One's "Deeply Rooted" album was a huge success, connecting with both underground soundsystem DJs and dances and achieving mainstream success with radio support from David Rodigan, Don Letts, Toddla T, Steve Lamaqc and many more. Along the way some of the singles have attracted remixes, helping to push the tracks in clubs and playlists, so we thought it was high time we should pull them all together for "Deeply Remixed".

Featuring previously released reworks from the likes of Mr Benn, Think Tonk, Sub Alpine, Folding City and Japan's Bim One Productions these are tried and tested dancefloor weapons. There are also a number of brand new and exclusive remixes available here for the first time. First up Danny T & Tradesman take Soom T's bubbling "Jah Jah" into dark dancehall territory, then jungle warrior Supa Ape gives Peppery's "Where You Come From" an amen rinse out, whilst Born On Road badboy Gold Dubs adds his trademark drum & bass chops to Dandelion's "Trying" giving a sweet finale to a jam packed selection of killer refixes.
