Berlin-based imprint Lissoms welcomes its founder Edmondson and his long time friend Practitioner for a split 6-track EP named - Linhope. 

Practitioner has been active for well over a decade under numerous aliases - releasing field recordings, musique concrete, and ethnic percussive sounds; with his electronic productions floating ambiguously between UK-centric bass music and Romanian minimal. 
Once a resident at the notorious Berlin institution Tacheles, he has material forthcoming later this year on Well Street Records, amongst others.
“Journal” is driven by an atmospheric breakbeat that evokes introspection segued into a delicate rhythmic interplay between mallet percussions and distilled melancholic chords.
"Linhope" EP is coming out on June 12th via Lissoms.

A sort of melancholic electro-disco trip with post-goth-punk-wave guitars and a guest appearance from AC Meadows. Super happy to have the first Maiovvi dance album out since 'Driftmusic' - The masters sound great and I'm sure the vinyl will sound equally as good."

The resident DJ for Tropical Animals, Gaiden’s preferences for immersive, deep sounds ranging from ambient/drone and slo-mo grooves to explosive techno are distilled into his first release. On ‘Escape from XEN’ the Italian producer opens with the title track, a powerful dubby techno track that blurry the transitions between organic and synthetic throughout it’s heady duration. ‘Acqua’, a densely atmospheric house-tempo cut, comes next before the bpms drop significantly for ‘Mel’, an infectious ALFOS chugger of the highest order. The stuttering drum machine workouts of ’Sputnik’ closes the EP with acidic, retro-futurist flair, rounding out a warm, spacey EP for the heads.

The landscape looked otherworldly, indefinable shapes danced amongst the mist, disappearing and reappearing as if by magic. Like something out of a twisted fairytale, the scene felt familiar yet at the same time disquieting — they were waiting for something bad to happen, for an unknown specimen to approach them rapidly through the thick fog. 

Influenced by nature, misty landscapes and the relationship between synthetic and organic sound, Greek indie musician Elias Smilios is embarking on his first release under the moniker GreySkies. Finding a home on London via Thessaloniki's Fair Weather Friends Records - a label focused on relevant yet timeless sounds - the 7-track LP titled YEAR sees Smilios match his guitar and bass lines with floating ambience, analogue synthesis and intricate, skittering beat patterns.

The bell sounded through the corridors, quickly followed by the flinging open of doors one after another. Excited laughter rang loudly around the school, followed by the charge of small feet as they scrambled for the door. For most the end of term meant freedom, fun and new experiences. It meant time spent with family and friends, time spent visiting new places and spaces. But that wasn't the case for some; quite the opposite. School was their only sanctuary.

Hot on the heels of Ed Dix's EP, Playground Records welcome a newcomer to the family, Roam Records and Wonder Stories alumni John Parsley. For his label debut - which also features two remixes from Bird Of Paradise and Local Suicide & Time To Sleep - he brings several different flavours to the table. Levelled up dancefloor rhythms peppered with acid lines and electro arpeggios open proceedings, followed by tension inducing beats that marry distorted sounds with celestial sounds, and intense, downtempo breaks layered with eerie atmospheres and metallic modulations.

Italian duo and biggest disco queens of the XXI Century Hard Ton land on Freeride Millenium with a superb new single backed with big remixes from Soulphiction, HiFi Sean, Super Drama and Box Office Poison and provocative artwork from Daniel Rajcsanyi.
Hard Ton are all about Sylvester-styled falsettos vocals, hi-nrg beats and screaming acid bass lines made on analogue synths and vintage drum machines which lends their sound a rugged and authentic edge. They are firm favourites in the disco world with releases on Rekids, Toy Tonics and Opilec Music that light up global dance floors and charts alike. Here they link with Berlin based American musician, singer and songwriter Snax to great effect.
The fantastic ‘Make Up’ is a cover of the 1982 gem from Prince protege’s Vanity 6, here it is offered up as a warm and steamy cut with vast rubbery kicks and big drum fills. Soaring synths rise up through the always dramatic track to keep lifting the energy levels and spoken words and yelps, chunky synth vamps and rattling hits all make for a brilliantly dynamic trip.
Philpot founder Soulphiction is a long time underground stalwart who flips the track into a deeper and more intense affair stripped of some of the drama and instead focusses on vast, funky guitar riffs that get you loosening your bones.
