‘Grief’ expresses that moment in the life-death-rebirth cycle when we are finally ready to let go of something. That turning point when suddenly there is nothing more left to say. No more need to analyse, discuss, think about, talk about why the ending is happening. The only thing left to do is surrender to the truth of what is. To turn away from ‘the story’ of it and turn your attention on tending to yourself and your heart so that you may process, heal and, in so doing, be renewed.

This song is as much a love song to ‘the dance’ as it is a song about heartbreak. For me, dance has always been a powerful form of alchemy - supporting me in transmuting the painful lessons of life into wisdom and experience. Whatever comes by way, I know that I can take it to the dance floor - whether it be a Berlin nightclub, the beautiful church where I practiced 5Rhythms movement meditation for many years, a beach in Thailand or my own bedroom - and be held by the music as I dance through my emotions back to a state of rootedness in myself.
