The Glory of the Sacred Mantra is best realised in the heart of a devotee as the Elixir of Life. The devotee sets out chanting as one separate from God, the Unseen Power that manifests as this universe, you and I including. The mind follows the tongue and lips till it experiences glimpses of quietude. Innocent as it is, the mind knows not that it is losing ground. Its nonexistent dominance becomes an eager child in the loving arms of its Beloved Mother, the Sacred Mantra, for God and the Mantra are ONE. Chanting gives way to more chanting, however imperfectly, and the eagerness to paradoxically feel its own absence intensifies. Glimpses become a stream, and before the devotee knows, the devotee drowns in the Sacred Mantra.

The tenderest Touch of Grace comes as these melodies each time the Sacred Mantra is chanted even if half-heartedly. Grace is unconditional. Grace embraces its own illusory version, the prodigal child, with even more tenderness.
