Legendary UK electronic producer Charlie Tate presents his 4th LP from The Jazzual Suspects. Tate began his musical journey in the mid 90’s with future funk outfit King Kooba and has released over 12 full length albums and countless singles and remixes under various monikers for the likes of Bob Marley, Kaskade, Dub Pistols & many more.

Fans of Tate’s production include such tastemakers as Om label mate Mark Farina who has included Tate’s production on every Mushroom Jazz volume since 5, Kaskade who worked with Charlie on his debut album ‘It’s You, It’s Me’, along with KCRW’s Anne Litt, Raul Campos, Valida, LeRoy Downs and experimental mixologists Osunlade, Horse Meat Disco and Moodymanc. The Jazzual Suspects - Aquarius

Etienne Stehelin AKA Rithma returns with the first single from his upcoming new Om Records EP The Great Spacious. On the title track we’re taken on a road-trip out into a wide-open space. It starts out pretty ominous, as some trips do, not knowing quite what is going to happen or how things will turn out. The initial synth line started out as a little jam in the studio, but then it gets into a bit of resolve with a beautiful worn tape loop chord giving us the idea that things might turn out okay after all. Rithma closes it out with a nice jazzy guitar riff, played on the Rick Turner "magic guitar", which he reflects “I only pull out once every few years and it always seems to make something magic.”

One of Om Records most longstanding producers Charlie Tate returns with Con Dem, the third single from his forthcoming Curvlinear LP (coming 4/14/2023). Con Dem is a beautiful smoky bar room piano and breaks composition complete with gorgeous guitar work and horns.

The 14 tracks expand into a beautiful Mushroom Jazz concoction complete with live instrumentation (Rhodes, guitar, jazz breaks, funky bass, cuts and more).

What originally started in a pub between Charlie Tate & Matt ‘DJ Shuff’ Harris in 1994 has come full circle 31 years later! King Kooba return with their third EP of their trilogy of genres, this time focusing on downbeat jazztronics. The midtempo grooves that made standout albums like NuFoundFunk so beloved. Featuring the stand out opener, Doh Zen. an electric piano, breaks and bass rolling groover, complete with string stabs and global atmospherics reminiscent of the classic Om Lounge series. Also included are the meditative breakbeats of Green Flash with electric bass and mellowed out baritone sax. Inner Mist is a mysterious track for the heads, followed by the percussive flute looped Lowereastside and Gumdrop to round everything out, It’s the perfect soundtrack to begin the 30th year of Om Records.

New Miguel Migs single 'The System feat Capleton'. With additional remixes from Mad Professor, Petalpusher, Rob Garza, and Rob Paine.

Featuring dancehall legend Capleton, this standout track from Migs’ recent full length Outside the Skyline captured the attention of none other than dub legend Mad Professor. Where Migs created a beat-driven, progressing tune, Mad Professor halves the tempo, saturating the track with space reverb and dancehall stabs. Then the Prof takes things one step further with the dub – a stable hi-hat ride lights the way through an absolute haze of echo and vocal chops. The second half of the single sees the triumphant return of the Petalpusher moniker for a deep Salted groove, followed by a building synth progression courtesy of Thievery Coroporation’s Rob Garza. Rob Paine rounds out the remixes with a bouncing pool party clatter behind Capleton’s alternating growl and croon.
