What originally started in a London pub between Charlie Tate & Matt ‘DJ Shuff’ Harris in 1994 has come full circle 30 years later! King Kooba return with their new Drum & Bass EP, Rapido featuring the lead single, ‘Smoking Room,’ a massive stretched out tune featuring Kooba signature bass lines and jazzy licks creating a heavy groove. Also includes the standout tune ‘Redefine,’ alongside ‘Votiac’ and ‘3113’. Stay tuned for the second EP of the new triptych from King Kooba focusing on their house music adventures coming soon.

The second single from the upcoming new Rocket Empire album is here! ‘Ana Uhibukka,’ which translates to ‘I love you’ in Arabic brings the ethereal vocals of longtime collaborator The Eloi who takes the track into ambient / indie rock territory. On track two, techno legend Timo Maas lends his remix duties for his Fahrstuhl Mix, taking the track into a dark pulsing groove. But that’s not all; to round things out, please check out the instrumental version that paints a deep ambient downtempo landscape.

Made in Taiwan and brought to Vienna, Austria (her parents’ origin) the culture clash incepted an affinity for a wide range of music. Growing up listening to classical music and African jazz, Billie Holiday‘s sadness and beloved fusion jazz gave birth to her musical approach, while abstract hip hop damaged the rest. Her sound varies from jazzy improvisation to Nu Soul, creating her own unique style through her code-lacking manners. She has spent a lot of time traveling Asia, the States and Southern Africa. While working on her Master thesis in Biotechnology she met the producer Mez.

Mez is currently studying piano at the Vienna Jazz Conservatory and is also collaborating with artists such as Raashan Ahmad. The quality obsessed artist of Jewish descent surprises with distinguished harmonies, organic vibrant beats and innovative sound sources.

Soulful things lay ahead after their first collaboration "Obtaining". Listen for yourself. Together they have been working on "Mood Swings“ as well as other material. This project will reflect on Soia's own mood swings, from melancholic soul, stream of consciousness turned song, to feel good tunes - always going beyond the surface.
