Mutagen Drift

In a flash of pyrrhic light, the particle evolves. At its singularity, infinite kinetic energy roils and bubbles against the cage of the continuum. A faint electromagnetic field is observed, encompassing a nine-dimensional parabolic structure. The field’s mesh ebbs and flows in its penultimate state, weaving space-time into umbral, visceral knots around its outer boundary. A minute instance of infinite potency, coalescing across countless mirrored realities. 

Its potency is without equal. It has been here before, and will be again; such is the cycle of the boundless. It understands its time is borrowed, and the hour grows late. 

It seeks a respite.

Zero Point

A particle blinks into existence, but for a simple moment. In that moment there within exists more energy than all our Universe’s conflicts, human achievements, and living beings that ever existed, currently exist, or will yet come into existence. A vast breadth of untold and unparalleled divinity, cascading across infinite parallel planes. 

Its existence is delicate. In but a single sliver of time, its entire light can, and will, be extinguished. It must practice care so as to not overexert itself, prior to evolution.

It seeks an audience.

Abiogenesis

Planet Neptune. 

Dark bells toll within the frozen depths of Oneirogast. There, the devout council of Ortheron weaves a song of death and rebirth almost as ancient as time itself. Their ritual is a simple one: they sacrifice the imbued, and then bathe their prodigy in the lifeblood of the Leviathan to be remade in the image of the Great Daemon. Maroon-burning braziers fill the fetid air with the smell of Violent Delight; a gravity-flower that grows deep in the ravines of the jovian moon Callisto. There, they are harvested for their delicious pungency, as well as somatic & quasi-psychedelic properties; a delicacy in the Belt, & a sacred instrument in the occult rituals of the Outer Cloud. They infuse the flower’s essence with what remains of Ortheron’s lifeblood, spilling it from a twisted cask over the dais onto the darkened flesh of the Chosen. Like groundwater seeping into Earth, the eldritch concoction fades instantly into its host, enchanting a glowing aura around the pedestal. Tendrils of soul-essence begin channeling forth from the foreheads of the acolytes in wisp-like conduits. Their chanting grows in crescendo, as does a Gregorian chorus; shaking loose sediment from the ceiling of the ancient, subterranean causeway as their cacophony rings deeper and deeper. Finally, in a brilliant burst of violet light and thunder, all light and sound and air is vacuumed from the chasm. Suspended above the dais, surrounded by the slumped, charred bodies of the diviners, an impossibly large, organic humanoid floats unrobed; the surrounding void crackling & bristling with ultraviolet energy. 

In a final flash of crimson lightning, the chasm falls silent; somehow seemingly darker than before.

A chilling laugh echoes in the deep.

Josiah “discovering” the formula is a bit of a misnomer, as it was his hacked Shard directing his heavily modified Personal Exploration Spacecraft [PES] in a heavily-damaged, dire self-preservation drive; which made the calculation that executed its warp drive into an overclocked state, causing the spacecraft to blink out of existence - narrowly escaping a plasma missile from a small fleet of bounty hunters. This was the first known instance of human/hybrid intelligence warp travel. His destination remains unknown, even to him. A 100 BTC bounty posted by U.N.S Extra-Solar Command exists, & is wanted dead or alive for smuggling, fraud, bribery, manslaughter, capital murder, impersonating a U.N.S. officer, salacious acts & intents, and treason.
