"Nocturnal", the debut release of French producer Sunrom on Ano Ano and it’s 7 tracks(incl. 2 remixes) that set the tone for plenty more to come from the young Parisian label.

An artist who is as discreet as he is talented, Romain Nouhi is a multi-instrumentalist night owl. With Nocturnal, the French producer takes us on an enchanting journey blending the sounds of electronica, balearic, deep house and ambient. The EP consists of 7 tracks including 2 remixes signed by the highly regarded Tour-Maubourg and Aldebaran with an illustrated cover by Art Director, Louis Mallart, mirroring all its beauty and complexity.

The opening track, "Not Enough” immerses us with its multi-layered and chiseled beats carried by old-school soul vocals. The perfect track for an opening or a closing- we’ll let you decide ;).

Following comes the outstanding “You Don’t Know” and “The Music Was Love” which Tour-Maubourg and Aldebaran recreate at the end of the opus. On the Belgium house-master Tour-Maubourg side we enter a very House version whereas Aldebaran takes on an abstract interpretation with rounded synths.

The EP would not be complete without mentioning “Hold On” and “Rainmaker”, two tracks that give us goosebumps. The intricacy of their rhythms leaves our ears delighted immediately upon listening.

Without doubt, Sunrom delivered one of the greatest EP’s of the year. Definitely one to tune in to.

Exclusive: Dwaalgast feat. Shari Klein - Dwaal (Nuno Dos Santos Remix)

Dwaalgast and Shari Klein released their collaborative work, Pad, shortly before summer. Now their EP gets the 'dwalen' treatment and is provided with four remixes from artists such as Luna Ludmila,  Patrice Baumel, Luca dell'Orso and Something Happening Somewhere label-head Nuno Dos Santos. The latter reworks Dwaal into a dreamy House groover that hits the zeitgeist as the beforementioned – still not defined as a sub-genre – musical direction seems to come close to classic House music produced in the 90s. However, Nuno Dos Santos' approach is not 'another' production that tries to copy this era of music but is rather a smooth piece that vibes in this dreaminess and rawness that partly takes one back to a time when NYC was synonymous for this kind of sound – just that the Dutch spoken vocals from Shari Klein remind one of the present.

From collaborating with The Weeknd on his new album to their latest breakthrough hit “The Mirage” on Afterlife, the Italian duo Agents Of Time are already proving to be unstoppable in 2022.

We welcome them back timed as an anthem to celebrate the end of the pandemic given their last release for us “Music Made Paradise” sadly was released at the start of it all.

“Blu” signifies a new direction for Agents Of Time as they hone in their production ambitions to embrace a more song driven approach to their club driven sounds. Sung entirely in Italian, “Blu” feels like an immense exhale to the frustrations and loneliness we have all felt the past 2 years. Poignant and vibrant, we expect some tears of relief to be shed on the dancefloor to this opus.

To be able get Joseph Capriati onboard for remix duties on “Blu” gives us the utmost pleasure. When we first heard “Blu”, we knew that Joseph was the most sensible choice for the single. But when we heard it, our jaws dropped. He goes down the road not taken and completely surprises with a gloriously, twisted take on epic 00’s driven melodic minimalism that will certainly give great pleasure to our long time fans of Kompakt.

Some things just make sense and we’re pleased present the first collaboration of 2 of our favourite artists : RED AXES & C.A.R. 
This release has been a long time coming. Tracks were first exchanged back in 2014 and it’s been an organic, intuitive process. Like-minded musically & likeminded lyrically - Red Axes & C.A.R. seem to work the same way. Recordings happen fast. One or two takes. It’s punk and it’s effortless. 
1960’s, psychedelic 2040 arrived on queue. A sweaty, London-summer evening, after spending the day writing alone out Hackney Marshes, Chloé demo’d the vox. - languid, nostalgic, at arm’s reach from the city - the track depicted the moment perfectly. A paper thin Victorian wall separating her from the chatting neighbours, she shut her eyes and got as close to the mic as possible. 
A few weeks Red Axes & C.A.R. were together in Tel Aviv. Ten times sweatier than London. To say the studio was dripping hot is an understatement. There was a party heaving in the square below, a van parked in the middle, broadcasting out on the radio waves. Dori was determined to use the intimate London vocals for 2040 and so they cracked on with Incognito, a club track that isn't one but works in its own way: rockabilly reverbs, an almost hip-house delivery, the strange alchemy of 808 fumes. Already inebriated from the city, Chloé had written her words off-cuff in the hotel room, just hours before.
Fastforward a year. Summer 2015. Niv had sent Space Cream a few months earlier - an electronic 4/4 ballad which already featured looped samples of some of the stuff they’d recorded in Israel. Heady and sticky, Chloé had to wait for longer days before she could get anything down.
Finally XMan, descends further down into psychedelia… Perfect for the London winter closing in. Heads filled with Cookie Mueller & memories of losing oneself in dark, basement parties - the words rolled off the tongue. 
Last autumn Red Axes invited C.A.R. down to London’s Pickle Factory to perform Incognito live. During soundcheck she penned some words for a new track they were debuting, which they also ended up doing. It’s an experience synonymous for this collaboration. What comes easy, makes sense.
