On the occasion of the Radio Thalflug weekend, I played a two-hour djset with tracks from the ECM universe only. 

The music comes from Meredith Monk, Azimuth, Rainer Brüninghaus, Eberhard Weber, John Surman, Pat Metheny, Steve Tibbetts, Tamia & Pierre Favre, Codona, Nana Vasconcelos, Steve Eliovson, Veljo Tormis, Ketil Bjornstad, Don Cherry.

The artwork is taken from Maja Weber's cover design for Eberhard Weber's album "The Following Morning" 💚

ECM was founded by Manfred Eicher in Munich in 1969 and soon developed into a melting pot of interesting musical fusions. Jazz, folk, classical music, various African, Asian, South American and European sound idioms, minimalism, ambient, avant-garde and electronic music came together in the ECM cosmos. Artists such as Don Cherry, Steve Reich, Meredith Monk, the Art Ensemble of Chicago, Jon Hassell, Eberhard Weber, Carla Bley, Keith Jarrett and Arvo Pärtt have found a home there.

The latest duo to make their Farringdon debut this year are the Swedish born producers, Bambook. A duo who have earned the support of the likes of Ame and Dixon for their small yet successful pool of EPs to date they've released material on Circus Recordings, Noir Music and also our favourite LA party makers Droog's Culprit imprint with their Hearts and Roads EP which slotted perfectly into the label's aesthetic with an engrossing and tripped out house sound. 

In the promotional mix they take things to a deep and progressive state to show how they will drive our Room Two rig at the end of the month (June 27th) when they form part of the Culprit takeover with label mates Droog and Adriatique.
