Rotating between light and joyful rare groove to HI-NRG playful club selections, Ophelia is known for combining the influences of disco and contemporary dance music in fluid dynamic effect.

In this mix, Ophelia shows off their dancey, party energy side, with proggy bangers, euphoric trance and housey vibes. Ophelia has made some amazing contributions to the Naarm (Melbourne) scene - they co-founded the queer/femme lead Naarm party LUNA Blessings, which focuses on booking artists from womxn, queer and GNC communities to curate safe and inclusive dance experiences.

Pat Brick aka DJ Life has been on a steady rise since his debut record released in 2019 with Echocentric Records, corresponding with the labels first release. The Aussie DJ and producer has since had a total of eight releases with prominent underground labels such as Dansu Discs, R.A.N.D. Muzik, and most recently, Lobster Theremin’s Distant Horizons sublabel. The energetic and fun take at combining prog, trance and techno has landed DJ Life’s name amongst the top in his league of sound.

We caught up with DJ Life on this edition of MIXED BY to discuss a bit about his music production, influences and the Australian underground dance music scene.

The next mix in our series comes from one of our favourite under-the-radar selectors in the UK, @joesansom. We first became aware of Joe after he wowed us with amazing sets at Cosmic Roots and Wire, as well as from the gems he regularly uploads to his Youtube channel.

This mix shows the scope and depth of his taste, exemplifying everything we love at On Ro - forward thinking but rooted in the past, showcasing long-forgotten tracks alongside the newest releases without anything sounding out of place.

With a taste and maturity in sound far beyond his years and a real ear for psychedelic groovy sounds, Joe is definitely one to keep an eye on!
