DJ Masda is a seasoned selector renowned for his deep excursions in house and techno. Born and raised at the foot of Mount Fuji, his path has taken him out from the shadow of the sacred mountain, through Osaka, and placed him firmly in the nerve centre of European techno, Berlin. He made his first steps in the 90s, spinning expertly chosen vinyls and developing a keen ear for subtler details that quickly got him noticed. In the decades since, he’s been busy building a body of work that includes playing at some of the world’s most revered venues and running his very own label and club series Cabaret with So Inagawa. Under their imprint,  he’s primarily focused on giving a platform to friends, those with whom he shares a personal connection and whose music brings something fresh and fun to the label; this fraternity of musical souls are hard at work to bring the very best of the Cabaret sound to market. Here, Masda’s own signature mix is made manifest for Bassiani Podcast 199: a patiently crafted three-hour dive into eerie electro, bouncy house, even a peppering of Italo nostalgia, recorded live at Horoom’s season close last July. A perfect end to summer and a perfect start to a new year, an act that’ll be hard to follow.

Yamour played at our Yellow House marathon during ADE and now she’s back with an IsBurning mix. An neverending house groove for the mind & the body banging in subtleness!

An uplifting deep house tune with organic percussions, a thick and bouncy bassline, buttery chords and a fun acid melody that comes in mid-track. I love the two funky disco breaks, definitely a highlight for me.
I bought this record in Japan, while I was on tour in Asia and it immediately became a staple in my record bag. 
The EP is a collaboration between Adeen and legendary Chicago label Balance. All four tracks are produced by Chez Damier and Makéz, plus a smoky remix by Mr G.

Different from what you will likely hear him play during club hours, his mix delivers a story of sounds sharing progressive and subtle patterns all throughout, telling a story of emotions kept under control. Genres and eras curated in the mix are varying from early 200s deep house to contemporary tech house.

Another beautiful moment looped between the past, present and future at The Block Tel Aviv reminding me once again that the foundation of our scene, the club dance floor, should not be forgotten.  The night was a perfect synchronous moment between the audience and I, immersed together in warm frequencies emanating from a sound system impeccably curated by the clubs owner.  Nights like this, where we all disappear into the darkness together are what bought me to the dance floor in the first place. Here's four hours of pure modern Techno music, from my mind to yours!

Kerrie is one of our favourite DJ's at On Ro, having played for us 3 times including at our 3rd birthday, when she DJ'd and performed live. When she's not serving up club tracks at Eastern Bloc Records in Manchester she can be found perfecting her live setup locked away in her studio or DJing for some of the UK's most respectable clubbing institutions. 

With a string of forthcoming releases on killer labels such as Don't Be Afraid Kerrie is definitely amping up her game on all fronts and this mix is a great representation of her DJing style delving into tough and textured electro and techno. Have a listen and believe us when we say she is the real deal!
