This song is another attempt at presenting the range of the Etherial Guitars ONAN model 8 string. All tracks DI into PodFarm 2 using Catharsis Impulse Responses. 

This is an umixed demo with slight compression and limiting on the output channel only (after rendering the stems from PodFarm). 

Sidenote: This is a route I rarely go down these days in songwriting...but, I wanted to show something a little more extended in range for my abilities, poor as they are.

This is the newest in-progress demo of what I am working on for you all. I apologize for the rushed quality of this presentation - still a few kinks to work out in this piece. This is dedicated to all the amazing people in my life who give so much to me and add to my inspiration. This is to show my love for you all, and that together, we have the power to overcome the highest obstacles. 

This is proving to be a difficult piece to complete! So if you don't mind the rushed image of this tune - this is for you, with all my love and sincerity.

This will be the first release for 2013 from ONAN, produced by Cold Weather Studios and in partnership with Etherial Guitars. 

The Wrath of Hoken (Sample)

ONAN, started February 2010, is the solo project of Sydney-based artist Kim Forbes. Kim started out playing with bands such as The Luddites, Rainbow Kiss, Amarantha, and most recently, Tortoise Cult. For the time being, ONAN is purely a musical endeavour.

Throughout 2010, ONAN has released 2 albums and an EP, with the last ('III:Metal|Porno|Space|Opera') as a dedication to fans of ONAN. The latest ONAN release, "Breaking the Fourth Wall" was digitally release on 11.11.11, and includes guest spots by Hugo Bonin and Eric Beaudin. An upcoming EP, 'Our Names Will Echo Through the Ages' is set for release on August 1st, 2012, and features guest artists Caroline Boucher and Eric Beaudin, and is produced by master engineer Joey Roach of Cold Weather Studios.

ONAN takes inspiration from such fine acts as Meshuggah, King Crimson, Extol, Evocation, Misery Signals, FellSilent, Steely Dan, while still trying to maintain a unique identity.
