This simple and hypnotic track came about while playing around with chord progressions on the piano, looking for a chorus for another song entirely. Took the idea to the synth, added a bass line and it all came together in a day or so. 

It's one of the few tracks that has my vocal on it. Initially as a guide vocal for the more accomplished singers I work with; but after some experimentation, my dulcet tones seemed to fit the hypnotic feel of it more comfortably after slapping on some effects.

This was such an easy song to write. Usually, multiple refinements and rewrites are required before being ready to get into the studio; arrangements can be particularly tricky.

You're Still The One (feat. Amanda Easton & John Kater)

So this is the original instrumental backbone of the track Never Given Up On you. It started it's life as a bass line in 2017 that I knew was pretty good. Just built up some sonic layers, but never quite knew what to do to turn it into a compelling song, so I thought this is how it would stay. However, after multiple listens to it in the car many months later, i started to hear vocal melodies in my head.
Reworked the track with those vocal ideas in 2019, and was very proud of how it finally came together. I'll keep this original track here on Soundcloud though.

The Cassini Division

So I fired up this sonic rocket in the middle of 2013, dusted off my olds synths and incorporated some new tech. Initial songs were refined ideas that I'd had for years, but couldn't seem to find a singer that could nail them. Fortunately, my engineer here in Sydney pointed me in the direction of the powerful yet angelic tones of Amanda Easton, a talented songstress and performer in her own right. 

The tracks you'll find on this page are what I consider songs with potential. Good, but not quite there yet.  If you're a fan or follower that has discovered this page by chance, let me know if there's a track or two here you think we should persevere with.
