It is the first release from Unspeakable Records, an all-female label founded by Dot (Kate Ellwanger) of TeamSupreme and Alpha Pup Records. Cassette tapes and digital downloads will be available through Unspeakable's Bandcamp page on April 1st, 2014.

The Fire and Things Forgotten is the debut album of Charlotte, NC native Suzanne Bonifacio, aka Space Cubs. Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, she gained influence from gospel and ambient music while taking classical voice and piano during high school, and her early interests in experimental and electronic music sparked the desire to start composing her own musical creations. Through explorations of the human condition and the nature of being alone with music, Space Cubs has crafted a body of work that showcases tremendous emotional depth and wisdom beyond her years.

“Bonifacio's strong suit lays in her expressiveness, elegantly combining the spiritual and the romantic with melodies that seem to demonstrate that the journey of self knowledge is more than a matter of self. "ronge raver is the first track to come out of the collaboration.  the super casual plan was to attempt to merge our two sounds into a final track that we’d actually want to play out.  ana creates and plays butt moving bass music and i lean a little harder on melody but have started to kindly dabble elsewhere.  we met a few years ago at a local lexington show when i opened for ana and unknowingly played a bunch of music all her friends had made… more recently did a lil mini run of dates in the southeast US together… and now we’re collaborating on this project and occasionally driving through desert oases. individually Ana has releases w/ the dearly departed outfit, Frite Nite, & more recently on Hot n Heavy Recordings & her self-run label, Cham Recordings.  ellie with Racecar & an EP slated for fall 2015."

The Gradients project was created to blend different creative platforms. Our philosophy is that nothing in life is black or white, but a gradient. We explore this concept through various intersections and collaborations between mediums including (not limited to) visual art, design, dance, film, music, architecture, food, computer science, and more.

The most recent Gradients Project that NY-based artist Kathy Lee (aka Yaeji) spearheaded has been the Gradients Mix series--a collection of 30 minute mixes that aurally translate a gradient of 2 colors. She has also been hosting Live Gradients shows in New York where each musical performer is assigned a color to interpret through their set. 

"'Hue' was an audio-visual study for me. When I first decided to challenge myself and make multiple tracks that could sit under one theme to be an EP or album, I was stuck with the preconceived idea that it has to hold one consistent sound. That very quickly became limiting for me, so I decided to think of the songs as colors instead, flowing from one to the other like a gradient, to inspire my production. That is why my tracks are each named a color and they all connect to become one, long gradient."

Suzanne Bonifacio, A.K.A. "Space Cubs", is singer/songwriter/producer from Buffalo, New York. Early on she, she pulled much influence from gospel and ambient music. During high school she started getting heavily into experimental and electronic music, which sparked a desire to start exploring that within her own musical journey. This continued throughout college, along with an all female electronic trio, "Chromakid", which consisted of Bonifacio, Tara Rook, and Kat Casale. She then came to form "Space Cubs" as an attempt to spend time exploring the nature of being alone with music. Her first EP, "Come Forth, Die Down", was released in 2013 and describes the ebb and flow of being raised in a religious atmosphere. Her first full length album, which was released in 2015, titled "The Fire And Things Forgotten", continues on this spiritual journey with a sort of triumph over the struggles within. Chris Daly of "Passion Of The Weiss" describes it as "Mood music for smoked out dungeons in the crackiest parts of your city."
