Haven- One and Other (original Instrumental)

She said: this is a tune that we started before we took our Road Trip...lol. Gary sent me a snippet of music that he had created which, at that time, was just a bit of a silky yet bubbly-ish kind of synth melody. it had a really cool bounce to it..but, it was also kinda "soft" feeling (to my ears)...that snippet inspired me, and i was able to create a few piano melodies for Gary to build upon...i was and am completely blown away by all that Gary adds to such simple piano melodies. He has a way of adding "just enough"...different sounds and different textures that keep your ears interested from start to finish. In this tune, he also added some "vocal synth" stuff that he's never tried before...which, i think, turned out way cool! The guitar lines/melodies he created for this bring such a STRENGTH and a presence!! When Gary plays...he PLAYS....not just notes...he brings feelings, and i love that so very much!! When i listened to the end of this piece for the first time...it brought tears to my eyes. SO very emotional to me...as the title suggests...this is our Haven...this is where we share our emotions, musically...hopefully, when you listen, you will "feel" that too :)

He Said: As anyone who knows Jaime knows she is what we say or call "Good people" she always has a kind word and always has a positive outlook on things. She will support those who support her without a thought and even some that dont support her.  She always says the nicest things about me and others. She often times calls me a deflector cause I get all red faced at her compliments. Listening to her you would think she has this minor part in our creation process... but this is a lie !! She contributes so much as far as beautiful soundscapes that inspire me and unique ideas to the sounds and lyrics that in general she is the foundation to the music and I just build around that core bright center. This tune is no different... all the piano she came to this song was the inspiration for the rest of it.  I had a great time weaving around her piano here and I really enjoyed the times when we go back and forth on the creation of it. Thanks to Jaime J for all of that :)
