Influenced by emotive tracks like Nero's "Crush on You," this remix is a testament to resilience and creative passion. The soul-stirring vocals of RUNN are intentionally pitched up, infusing innocence into the heavy lyrics, while the bass adds depth to this Drum n Bass rendition. The result? A unique DnB flavor that's all its own.

Created at a challenging time, battling health issues with Rickettsia and Legionella, this track isn't a story of defeat but of triumph. My determination to recover and the desire to express myself through music guided the remix's creation. It's a reflection of where I was and where I wanted to be, with the lyrics resonating on a deeply personal level.

I created my own bass through PhasePlant, and the drum patterns blend styles from favorites like Amoss and DLR. Though initially aimed at Liquid DnB, the Reese touch had to happen, shaping the sound in unexpected ways.

A massive shout-out to nøll and Squired, whose incredible work inspired me to push my creative boundaries. And to all the Junglists out there, I hope you relish this remix as much as I enjoyed creating it. Let the emotion drive the track, and let the music take you where you want to be.

The 90th installment of our mix series comes courtesy of Oxfordshire-based DJ and producer Dysfunction. 

 Hot on the heels of the release of their Gather No Moss EP on Audio Entropy Recordings, and building on their catalogue of guest mixes for the likes of 1 More Thing and No Reality, the 24 year old brings us an eclectic blend of soulful liquid, minimal and neuro, featuring several first plays of their upcoming bits.

The Iliads series has enabled us to return to the original sound of the label, and to explore the styles of our original artists. This third volume digs into the darker dystopian Hokusai sound, most notably with the 2 A-side tracks Beyond Measure & Papillon. The B-side track 'Listen With Intelligence' is an ode to the golden age of 1994-7 Atmospheric Jungle. Division - Escape

In the seventh instalment of the 'Between the Beats' podcast series, I got the honour of chatting with the 1985 label manager, Amy Jayne.

Amy knows the drum and bass business world like the back of her hand. A graduate in photography who had a love for dubstep and drum and bass - she never imagined the career she would go on to have within the scene.

It's as if she has done it all, working for Hospital Records, Shogun Audio, now the label manager for 1985 and helping many artists set up their own labels and handle self-releases. She is the definition of a "Drum and Bass consultant" - her knowledge and experience of how the industry works is something that really shines bright.

This conversation between us is a story of hard work and teaches us that knowledge is power (as is the will to obtain it!) I feel incredibly fortunate to have been able to interview Amy and hope you all enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed speaking with her!
