"Kosen Production are fast becoming a pillar for independent drum & bass, never failing to deliver nasty slices of bass onto its ever-growing fan base. Founded in 2011, the French label has continued to push the sounds which have made the underbelly of drum & bass thrive in recent years. And they’ve hosted a wide range of talent, whether that be emerging newcomers or the scene’s more prominent figures, including heavyweight names such as Signs, The Clamps and Nickbee. This year is beginning to look even bigger for both the label and its artists, having searched cyberspace for the most up and coming, fresh sounds the genre has available.

One of these artists is Bohemian, and having already released on the likes of Metnem, Dutty Audio and You So Fat, he returns with an aggressively tactile EP ‘Shifters’. It’s as hard hitting as you’d expect, especially being on a platform like Kosen and Bohemian ensures he makes his mark on their roster."

Returning to the Dispatch main label this October, we are pleased to present the ‘Last Call EP’ from Survival, a formidable four tracker, spanning the full breadth of his unique sound. 

Following a busy few months, with Survival releasing the ‘Take It Back’ album and a Dispatch Dubplate (amongst other commitments), the fruits of his labour continue to blossom, with quality music flowing that still feels distinctively different to his previous. 

The production shows no signs of haste, yet the vibe instils a distinctive urgency into any set; it is carefully constructed, but naturally formed and the EP spans from frantic stomper ‘Cold Food’, to the haunting lushness of ‘Only’ and the crisp, tantalising bass pressure of ‘Roots’. 
Serving up a stellar selection, Survival blesses Dispatch once again, with an outstanding EP.

The forthcoming LP from Delta9 Recordings presents everything the label has endeavoured to construct since they first began releasing music. Based between two of Europe’s most creative hubs, the label has stretched its roots from Berlin and Bergamo, in Italy, to draw out a host of inspirations. It’s dark, minimalistic and techstep sounds have filtered across subs within their biggest club spaces, helping to promote the drum & bass culture in Northern Italy and demonstrating its contribution to the worldwide scene. From its very beginning stooped in the culture of free parties and small venues, up until its fiftieth release, Delta9 Recordings have continued to push the boundaries since their inception in 2012. The natural evolution can be seen throughout their back catalogue of music as well as their live events, which have hosted several Italian and international artists from the harshest realms of drum & bass. And the LP which benchmarks a phenomenal number of releases channels the exact same ethos.

The album highlights both already renowned international artists on top of the artists which Delta9 will be working with in the future. As well as the already notoriously fierce music Delta9 releases, they also branch out into the liquid subgenre, which helps to diversify the music given a platform through the 50th benchmark. A host of talented newcomers and critically acclaimed artists stand out across the track listing.

Beginning the LP is ‘Neurotic’, which sees Flipz MC, Logics and Kodin take centre stage. Invadhertz brings LaMeduza on board for ‘Bullet’. SL8R offers up ‘Totum’ whilst Logics and Kodin return again, although this time for the remix of their track ‘Extrema Ratio Remix’ by Dabs. Disprove’s ‘Relative’, Akrom’s ‘Feelings’, Instinkt’s ‘Ultra’ and Ephyum’s ‘Numinous’ all deliver a harder edge. Freqax, Kaiza and Kryptomedic join forces on ‘Bolt’ and SD’s ‘Ice Cubes’ adds a cooler touch. Meanwhile, Synth Ethics’ ‘Flash Crash’, Neve, Frame & Skip’s ‘Say Now’, Stoner & Dottor Poison’s ‘Circus V’ and Underspawn’s ‘Gripped In’ only add to the multi-faceted subgenre styles. And Rafiki & Draize’s ‘Surface Tension’, D Flect’s ‘Sarasvati’, Sentic Cycle’s ‘Juno’, Jazzatron’s ‘Cheap Chip’ and Echonic & Nova D9’s ‘Stack’ further solidify just how far ranging Delta9 Recordings scope really is. All in all, it’s one almighty package. And Delta9 Recordings wanted to deliver exactly this for their 50th release.

Next up on Lifestyle we celebrate our past year of releases, and give a sneaky look into the future of the label; it’s the Lifestyle Annual 2018!

This Annual marks an important moment in the life of the label; for the past couple of months we've had our heads down, thinking about what's important to us here at HQ and how to revise our look a bit. This has resulted in a fresh approach to our brand and a more refined visual style moving forward into 2019, we are very excited about it and can't wait to show you what's in store!

We’ve knocked our heads together and picked out 16 choice cuts of prime Lifestyle material from the past year, tunes that have stood out to each of us as the finest our label had to offer in 2018. We tried to keep it reasonably varied, but didn’t do so well, so expect a heavy concentration of that deep dark tech inside, as well as a splattering of other distinct sounds. 

While we have got some of the Lifestyle ‘anthem’ tunes in there, we’ve also been careful to include some for the real heads, tunes that some might have missed first time round, that we reckon deserve excavating and rinsing out. 

As if this wasn’t enough, we’ve also thrown in 10 brand-new tracks, featuring some very close connections! A lot of these tracks are from new voices we’ve just started listening to in the scene, and to make it extra personal, four of the ten tracks come from the team here at the label! Mandie, Jamie, Jono & Mersen (+ Ken) dug in and came out with some tracks of their own for the release, including the first ever release for Combine with ‘Retrograde’, a super-vibey deep liquid banger. This exclusively personal touch is the cream on the cake of this release, which itself crowns what was the best year for our label yet. 

We hope you enjoy this release as much as we enjoyed putting it together. We’re deeply indebted to all the artists we’ve worked with over the past year and beyond, without them making the tunes, and you lot buying the tunes, this label would be nothing, so we’re forever grateful for all your support in 2018, and hope we do you proud this year. We’ve got some big plans in the pipeline that we can’t wait to let you all know about, so make sure to stay connected and informed! The two contrasting tracks demonstrate his diversity as one of the scenes top emerging artists. His background as a guitarist is a thread that consistently runs through his production, which adds a live and natural feel to much of his work. As a trained sound engineer working at a renowned studio, his experience from recording an eclectic array of bands adds a different dimension to his approach when making Drum n Bass. Working towards his debut album, this release is the first taste of things to come.
“The Place” - Teaming up once again with the soulful Vanity Jay, this track takes you on a journey of moods. From pensive and smooth to edgy and deep this track holds you on the edge of your seat as you travel through the soundscape. Distilling these elements down into the DJ Edit (included in the digital release) delivers a more club friendly version.
“Always There” - Known for his love of Amen breaks, Madcap brings his rolling jungle style to the mix on this energetic B side. Uplifting horns, retro guitars and bluesy vocals keep this fast paced record moving until the last bar.
