I've been meaning to record an acoustic rendition of this song for over a year now, with my band Absentia. 

For the time being, I thought I'd re-record all the guitars, bass and vocals tracks for a YouTube cover. This is just a rough mix testing how the guitar tone fits with the rest of the stems. 

There's very little limiting, so you might have to crank the volume a bit. 

Guitars and Bass were recorded with a Fractal Audio Axe FX II into a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40.

An update on my entry for Ola Englund's "Feared Mixing Competition 2013." 

I decided that I should be using SoundCloud more often, so I thought I'd upload a progress bounce... 

This is the first song mixed and mastered exclusively using my Equator Audio D5 Monitors. If I get a chance, I'll do some vocal automation and make a few more tweaks before my final submission, but overall I'm happy with how it turned out.

As I mentioned earlier, this is the first song mixed and mastered exclusively using my Equator Audio D5 Monitors. No fancy, over the top sampling and re-mixing; I just wanted to keep it as clean and tight as possible.

The guitars are a combination of the supplied re-amped tracks, and tone-matched guitars using my Fractal Audio Axe-FX II.

Here is my remix of No Road Home (Solastalgia) from Chaos Divine's "The Human Connection" (2011). 

This track was completely mixed and mastered by yours truly. I'm uploading these mixes to document my progress as a musician, producer and audio engineer, as well as to build an online portfolio to display my work. 

The multitrack recording was made available by the members of Chaos Divine as part of their "Africa" EP remix competition. All rights go to their respective owners. 

Mixed and Mastered using Logic Pro 9.1.8.

Chaos Divine are a progressive metal band from Perth, Australia. I highly recommend you check them out if you're not familiar with their work! 

Chaos Divine - No Road Home (Solastalgia) (Mixed and Mastered by Daniel Natoli)

Here's a remix of Nine Inch Nail's "Only" from their 2005 album "With Teeth". 

This remix was done as part of my Digital Technology 4 final assessment at The Australian Institute of Music, and was done in a couple of hours using my home studio setup (so much for not leaving assessments 'till the last minute, eh?) 

This version is unmastered, so excused the fact that it may not translate well on different speakers. You'll need to crank it, because it was mixed pretty damn loud.

Nine Inch Nails - Only (Beard Remix) (Unmastered)

Just your typical rhythm guitar tone test...

For the guitars I used a 2009 76' Reissue Gibson Explorer into a Fractal Audio Axe-FX II.
Bass was recorded with a No-name Custom 5-string into my Focusrite Saffire Pro 40. 
Drums were programmed using Superior Drummer 2's standard Avatar Kit.

Recorded and mixed using Logic Pro.
