Remixes come courtesy of Melbourne’s emotive master Gavin Griffin aka GMJ, and Cordoba’s Guillermo Cornejo aka Antrim, to complete a package that brings together a triumvirate of rising global talent. 

With its beautifully melancholic intro, ‘Peak Flow’ soars within a cathedral of melodious magnificence throughout. Griffin Paisley is a master at tugging heartstrings, his delicately sprinkled deeply entrancing motifs hallmarks of his uniquely engaging style. NYC-based legend @djjoeski has been at the forefront in his hometown for decades now, on his brand new "Mind Funk" EP which will be released via @dirtybirdrecords on Friday November 23rd, you can hear just how skilled a producer he is. Joeski is all about building layers of sound fused with drums and rhythms that sit perfectly together. 

We here at Discobelle are able to premiere the B-side track "Tha RMX", which is built on a rolling and steadfast wobbly bass, superbly crisp high hats and hypnotic vocals that together forms an exquisite slab of housed up awesomeness.

The opening seconds of the first track Embrace suggest a tropical setting—droplets, chimerical wind instruments and organic strings trickle into earshot. It’s ultimately a track for the dancefloor, so scattered broken beat loops swiftly make an appearance, along with a gleaming synth that makes for a memorable breakdown. Palmfood takes the same approach, blending organic sound patterns with dancefloor staples on second track Shove as well, which abounds in layered percussion and glitched out synths.
On the flipside, Daniel Rateuke channels equally exotic soundscapes, adding some fitting vocal loops on Yassah and marrying large, dreamy pads with zig zagging synth twists on Sambula.

To close out a wonderful 2018 on high note we welcome back the talented Canadian producer Las Von to ICONYC with his latest smash 'Saudade'. With outstanding releases on labels like Mango Alley, Somatic, Mogador and Krafted Underground to name a few, he developed a unique style; a dynamic, groovy, deep and hypnotic fusion of genres that perfectly fits in any kind of club or open-air festival. Las Von has seen a rise to fame in 2018 thru the regular output of quality productions, especially his work in collaboration with the other rising stars of 2018; Germany’s TH;EN. 

On his first solo outing on ICONYC, Las Von treats us to the spectacular ‘Saudade’. A grooving deep prog house roller, fusing gentle chord stabs with subtle string ensembles and clinical percussion. The beautiful driving lead line of ‘Saudade’ pared with Las Von’s trademark beat manipulation culminates into a club inspired piece of house music for the ages. ‘Saudade’ is a perfect piece of music for sun kissed winter evenings and to get you in the mood for a big night out.

Adding to our growing list of all-star remixes, we welcome back Australian Jamie Stevens who needs no introduction and knows a thing or two when it comes to mind blowing reworks: Jamie turned ‘Saudade’ into an irresistible track like only he can by using the original elements on offer with perfection. Jamie layers more melodies and effects, whilst upping the flow with cleverly programmed percussion and his trademark FX elements, without destroying the essence of the original. His rework deserves to be branded 'essential' in any sense of the word. 

Last but not least, we are proud to have another big hitter on remix duty. German duo Wellenrausch known for their works on Afterglow, Black Hole and Coldharbour amongst others, present a musical affirmation, unified by a deep kick drum and atmospheric emotion. Their remix is a concoction of warm, deep bass grooves, swirling pads, textured layers and stunning effects. Clever synth phrases complete the picture and create a rounded worked piece of art to see out their remix in style.

Las Von’s first solo outing on ICONYC is an accomplished piece of work that highlights, that he is fast becoming a true master of his craft. With the talent on offer, ICONYC once again reaffirm their status as one of the leading lights in the progressive underground. Returning to Proton Music with another brand-new track, Pole Folder voyages across the "Serengeti". Remixes come from UK and Egyptian artists.

An iconic figure, Pole Folder has been at the vanguard of underground dance music for two decades after a 24-carat 2001 debut for Bedrock Records followed by 2005's "Zero Gold" album. With 300 production credits to his name and his successful Reworck imprint, the Belgian was an early fixture on the Proton Music roster with his "Protected" and "Radio 101" EPs between 2006 and 2008. A decade-long hiatus then saw "A Glimpse into the Past" released in 2018 with remixes from Retza and Funkform. Now returning, "Serengeti" is a wonderfully atmospheric offering, with its thunderstorm opening and brooding pads. Building smoothly, offbeat hats provide metronomic precision as a glissando lead meanders gracefully across the top. Effected vocal cuts add further depth alongside a grooved bassline and heavy beat as Pole Folder's inspiring production work hits the heights in the third movement to mesmerising effect.

Striving to achieve "the perfect unity" of "diversified beat, sounds, rhythms and melodies into one Fulltone", the Egyptian has more than met his stated aim with a century of production credits for the likes of Kindisch, KATERMUKKE and Pablo Bolivar's Seven Villas, A welcome Proton Music debutant after a remix of Lanvary's "Akyoomen" for Particles in November 2017, the Fulltone reworking of "Serengeti" is a beautifully immaculate affair that delights with its tribal percussive hits and rolling groove. Subtle atmospheric touches can be heard throughout as water trickles and wind effects sweep across the sonic landscape. Smooth keys shimmer like water droplets as Fulltone's additional production material takes the original in a new and vibrant direction, while Pole Folder's sounds resonate throughout to anchor the remix within the Belgian's overarching narrative. The result is a gloriously creative and mature new interpretation.

Successful artists with long and impressive careers in dance music, Trilucid & Phil Martyn have seen their collaborative efforts feature on the likes of Perfecto, Black Hole and Markus Schulz's Coldharbour Recordings. Regulars on Particles since 2018 with their "Gone" EP and remix of Andre Sobota's "Unmute", Trilucid & Phil Martyn have seen success on the flagship imprint with the remix of Stas Dive's "Abyssal". A Trilucid solo offering saw "Glint" released in early 2019 with remixes from Subandrio and Cream & Deep Fog, while Phil Martyn returns to aid production on the forthcoming "Astral" EP. Reworking "Serengeti", the Trilucid & Phil Martyn remix is immediately characterised by a thumping beat and hot, simmering dancefloor nature. Making clever use of Pole Folder's original components, vocal effects create a hypnotic texture, while the smooth flowing lines of the original are immaculately juxtaposed against heavier rhythmic aspects. The result is a dynamic and striking new interpretation.

Lighting up the "Serengeti" with sublime new music, Pole Folder is joined by remixes from and Fulltone Trilucid & Phil Martyn on a safari of sonic discovery.

Many lifelong friendships, and magical parties where had during the Noise Revolt and TBBR Days. Since the pandemic, Dante' has shifted his focus from throwing events to becoming a full time Music producer. Without a doubt, Dante' is one of the most stellar DJ's in town.
