In the current climate of S.A hip hop where Motswako and Joburg rappers seem to be having the lion’s share of success and fame, comes a single out of the capital city that is set to change the landscape of the entire music industry.

Having shared the stage with South Africa’s most celebrated artists and award winners from a wide range of genres, the likes of Black coffee; Zakes Bantwini; Khuli Chana; Dr Malinga and AKA to name a few, T.Y is finally releasing his much anticipated E.P titled “The Legend Before The Prime” and the first single is titled Zahara Money.

Zahara Money Due for release in mid-January is a song that’s set to blow the hip hop scene alight with the racy lyrics and hip upbeat 808s and snares.  The song discusses not only the monetary part of the music industry but also the lifestyle as well as the problems that new, young found wealth could bring. T.Y goes in detail to discuss the way in which the money made from shows and endorsements is spent; the female fiends chasing his new found wealth and how he plans on courting numerous celebrities such as Minnie Dlamini and Boity.

With lyrics such as: “Ride for the night/ Life of the night/ Pray for the Things that we aint doing right/ Used to fight/ from outta sight/ now the Minnie types is mine for the night/” the song is guaranteed to catch any hip hop listeners ear.

The title of the song is inspired by the vast wealth accumulated by DJ Sbu and his TS Records collective from Afro-pop sensation Zahara’s sales and tours.

Considered one of Pretoria’s best up & coming hip hop acts, with various Dj’s around Gauteng having play listed his music, this could be the single that introduces the rest of the country to the young talented artist.

With a line-up of shows scheduled around Gauteng clubs and various varsity campuses to promote the single and music video currently in workings, this could certainly be not only the most controversial but also one of the biggest hip hop songs to hit the music scene this year.

Zahara Money is scheduled for release on the 15th of January 2014.
