Pindorama X700 is the new album from Brazilian artist KALOZIN, exploring contemporary electronic rhythms like Pisadinha, Brega Funk, Arrocha, Baile Funk, and Tecno Brega. KALOZIN deconstructs these styles to create fresh, innovative sounds using samples, broken beats, field recordings, and synths. The album's name combines "Pindorama," which means "land of the palm trees" in Tupi and was the name for Brazil before colonization, with "X700," referencing a popular keyboard model. This fusion evokes a cybertropical utopia, blending tradition with futuristic elements, celebrating the vibrancy of South American electronic music, and offering a critical view of colonial legacies.
