We return to vinyl at the end of March with a debut EP from London DJ/Producer Last Nubian, including remixes from two of Deep House's most repected names in Harry Wolfman and Carlo.

​Last Nubian's intricately produced tracks have seen him feature on labels such as Nomada, Blaq Numbers and GetTogether over the last 2 years. Crying on Jetskis and I Left see him once again showcase a high level of production full of detailed arrangement, warmth and energy.

Well known for his seminal releases on labels such as Dirt Crew & Outplay, one of the most admired producers on the scene in Harry Wolfman provides the remix for the EP's title track and brings his signature analogue chords and structures to 'Crying on Jet Skis'.

'I Left' is treated to a remix from Neovinyl label boss and prominent producer Carlo. After previous releases on Classic, Lagaffe Tales and more he strips back the track to produce a filtered, straight-up, dancefloor-ready rework.

One Foot in the Groove has been responsible for some of the most memorable Deep house nights in the city, and has gained the reputation for “bringing Friday nights back”. Amongst others, we have hosted Dino Michael of the Godfathers House on GoodHope FM, SAMA Nominee and internationally acclaimed DJ and Artist Jullian Gomes, and the pioneers of the Cape Town deep house scene, namely Leighton Moody, Cassiem Latief, and Clint Hill. We have also secured the biggest and most influential act of late, “Martin Atjazz” to perform in Cape Town for the First time in December 2012, exclusive to One Foot in the Groove – fortifying our commitment to always remain forward thinking and different.
One Foot in the Groove also provides many up and coming DJ's with the platform to showcase their skills and talents, many of which is their first time playing to a large audience.

One Foot in the groove consists of 3 founding members:

Bryan Travis: 
Bryan has been DJing since 2000 and has spent 12 years crafting his sounds. His reputation has grown as a popular and versatile DJ in Cape Town. Guest appearances include events such as J&B Met, Love Parade Cape Town, Funky Buddha, Soul Revolution, AfterDark™, Innercity Deep, and City Lights. Bryan is also resident DJ and co-founding member of massive brands namely LoveAll™ and One Foot in the Groove.

Emlyn Williams: 
Emlyn’s love and gift for music has been apparent since his early teens when he began DJing in 1999. His first club appearance was thanks to the guys from "Funky Buddha", Clint Hill and Roy Block. After he discovered a deep connection with house music his career has flourished, seeing him become much sought-after on the Deep House scene and known as one of the most technically sound DJ’s. Apart from holding residency at Deluxe, One Foot in the Groove, City Lights and Funky Buddha, Emlyn has also played alongside local and internationally acclaimed artists, namely: Harrison Crump, Ralph Gum, Charles Webster, Martin 'Atjazz' Iveson, Dino Michael and Jullian Gomes to name a few. Other events in his repertoire include, Love All™, AfterDark and various guest appearances on Goodhope FM, 5FM Ultimix, Muthafm and Bush Radio.

Adam De Smidt: 
As a DJ/producer from Cape Town who fell in love with electronic music during high school. There was always something different about Adam. As a young teen, he fell in love with deep house music, music with feeling and emotion. His music style can be described as “colourful, electronic, deep and bass house”. It is always fresh and forward thinking. He’s a DJ that is always trying new styles of music, educating the crowd, but always entertaining them as well.


As a team:
Bryan and Emlyn grew up together in the Cape Town Deep house scene.
Playing as a duo, the pair could be observed warming up for some of the biggest and most progressive parties on the scene. Early in 2010, they joined forces with rising DJ and producer Adam De Smidt, and the dynamic team of One Foot in the Groove was born.

One Foot in the Groove started out as a meeting place for friends, an occasion where like-minded folk could catch up while sampling the freshest and most-quality Deep House music, complimented by seamless mixing and flow. The event’s reputation for providing an unpretentious atmosphere quickly spread throughout Cape Town, and soon One Foot in the Groove became the biggest Friday night Deep House event in Cape Town, and arguably the most popular night at Deluxe, the only Club dedicated to House Music in Cape Town. This trend has continued with the move to various venues in the CBD.
