This is the demo version of "Same". I initially wrote the song on acoustic guitar, but I'm a sucker for bass chords. I decided to add tremelo on the bass and reverse reverb+delay on the electric guitar. The wimpy drum sound is drum sticks on my guitar case. The demo is pretty sparse sounding and the final version was still sparse, but a little less so. This was the song I enjoyed recording the most on the "Fooling Ourselves EP".

The song is based on Psalm 102 and I wrote it during the Advent Season of 2012.

Same (The Demo)

On the outskirts of Lusaka is a mountain where many go to pray (all the sounds in the background). A few months ago I headed to the top of the mountain early in the morning, around 6am, to shoot an acoustic video of the song "Fooling Ourselves" with Chose Mweemba and my wife. Sadly, the video footage was lost in a tragic hard drive crash(THE WORST). The audio turned out well- try to imagine the video in your head as you listen?
