O’Neil Duncan’s music career started when he formed a group called Acappella Flames while attending his high school Cornwall College in the early 90s. This group did very well and continues to singtoday, winning numerous awards in music. O’Neil sang bass for this group. O’Neil and his brother Claude were always known in Montego Bay as top writers and arrangers of gospel music. O’Neil came to Grand Cayman in 2005 after accepting a teaching position at the John Gray High School where he currently works.He also lectures Computing at the ICCI College. It was in 2005 that he met with three other young men who sang in a group at the time and proposed to write a song for them for the next year’s gospel festival. He joined this group ‘Clarity’. Clarity went on to win the gospel song competition in the Cayman Islands in 2006. Under the leadership of the late Mrs. Avis Thompson the group soared to much popularity and released their album in September of 2006.   O’Neil was the principal writer and arranger of the album where he wrote eight of the 10 songs. Among these were popular songs such as, ‘Gimmie di Water’, Walk in the good light’ and the 2006 winning gospel festival song ‘Open your heart’. O’Neil sang with Clarity for two years, parting company in 2007. Since then, O’Neil worked on his solo album that was released in October 2011.   O’Neil has shared stage with numerous artists such as CeceWinans, Acappella, FC Barnes, Kirk Franklyn, Papa San and a host of others. O’Neil presently serves as the First Elder and assistant music co-coordinator at the Ebenezer SDA church in the Cayman Islands.
