Kanal kicks off its Outsiders residency with Roger 30000- the musical alter ego of Brussels-based painter Julien Meert. The music he produces is strange and melancholic, but also optimistic and naive. A loner, he creates symphonic, abstract miniatures around evolving loops cobbled together from guitar sounds and sprinkled with his whispered lyrics.
