i just took a music technology class at csun. our final project was to produce a piece using logic. there were some requirements with which i won't go boring you, but i decided to go with my old friend--& yours, i'm sure--erik satie as a partner in... crime? well, i guess i did steal his tune... & his chords. thanks, mr. satie. we love you.

this is what i came up with with asked to take on yet another assignment from jean-paul garnier, aka loopool. he designed some synth patches based on some scales that he devised, which were derived from a different sort of tuning that he came up with using light frequencies & translating them to sound frequencies. it was a fun project &, although it was something i made upwards of three years ago, i've yet to present the piece anywhere until now. i should add that the vocals you hear--& can hopefully discern--are from an interview with dr. cornell west that tavis smiley conducted at the los angeles central library. amen.
