Sebastian Porter with his debut EP on Lebensfreude Records. Better not match label name and the music together. Porter, born in Cologne and meanwhile Berlin-based, knows how to dress the summer in music. As each ray of sunshine would be a sound. Deep, melodic House, which does not make the mistake of flirting with too much seriousness. Instead, constant surprises: it is the use of cellist Thiemo Niggemann in "Geschichten einer blauen Raupe" or the smoky, lascivious voice of actress and party icon Marie Scherzer, what with the interpretation of Nietzsche ("Those people") and Shakespeare ("Moon") texts to the musical tapestry of Porter gives an understated, yet distinctive touch. The Freiboitar remix of "Moon" is reached in terms of permeability again one better and rounds off an EP that will come big to the open-air summer season.

You may know JAW already, you may not. An artist who has sung into the hearts of dancefloors the world over, JAW is probably best known for his electric performances as the frontman for dOP and their indie­pop side­project Les Fils du Calvaire. Alongside this he has guested on massive tracks such as crossover hit ‘No Eyes’ by Claptone, Para One’s ‘When The Night’ and Claude VonStroke’s ‘Le Fantôme’, not to mention regular work with his immediate musical family in the Circus Company collective, like in this new "Midtown" EP, which supports this massive track - Love Bones, which you can exclusively hear in full right here.

Jimpster is back with his first full EP since Porchlight And
Rocking Chairs! With only a smattering of remixes for the likes of
Paxton Fettel, Detroit Swindle, Till Von Sein, Cajuu and S-Man and
original track Head Spin for the 200th Freerange double pack it’s
been a fairly quiet time studio-wise the last couple of years. All
that is about to change however with 2015 shaping up to be full of
new music in various shapes and forms and under different guises.
English Rose kicks off the fresh new Jimpster biz in fine style
with the most majestic of tracks, single-handedly announcing that
summer is officially here. A sense of anticipation pervades as the
chunkiest of disco breaks drive the track, hazy vocal pads
occasionally piercing the layers of spinning echoes. We’re thinking
DJ Gregory meets Walter Gibbons in a star-lit clearing of a lush
rainforest on some far-flung tropical island.
Up next we have Solitude, an afro-techno soundclash infused with
that trademark Jimpster sound where the devil is in the detail of
this beautifully subtle and rolling groove. Seven minutes thirty
seconds of complete bliss to get well and truly lost in!
Finally we have Drakkar Noir which once again attempts to hypnotize
you with a relentless old-school house groove and simple, drifting
synths. Distant vocals go in and out of focus as the track ebbs
and flows, finally deciding to call it a day after nearly nine
minutes but still manages to leave you wanting more.

Since their first 12inch in 2006, Dan Berkson and James What's musical odyssey has been relentless and relentlessly impressive, taking in standout live gigs around the world from Sonar to Fusion to Fabric to Panorama Bar, the launch of the MODELMAKER label and their debut album 'Keep Up Appearances', and a constant stream of releases that encapsulate their signature take on the tech house sound. Throughout that time, Poker Flat has been home base, to which they now return for an essential anthology gathering favourite tracks and remixes from a thrilling decade.

The compilation kicks off with their reimagining of Daniela Stickroth's 'Ghost In The Attic' - a deeply immersive groove full of shimmering details and dubby clatter, where every element unfolds organically. Also from 2006, 'The Dig' teems with subtle ideas, contrasted with a playful, upfront synth riff and a brutal, no frills machinemusic climax. As you'd expect, everything that follows is more than worthy of highlight status, from the air of menace and mystery conjured by 'Cantina' to the booming groove of 'Ghosts', the rhythmic pings and pulses of 'Last Train' to the deep funkiness of 'In Person'.

Along the way, a depth and breadth of tones, textures and moods are evidenced testimony to the duo's eclectic tastes and perpetual ability to invent and innovate. 'If I Was A Man', 'Onika' and 'Reflections' display their love of spoken word performance and hypnotic minimalism, the latter featuring Robert Owens in decidedly gruff mood. 

'Psychedelic Underground' builds into a complex, enveloping jacktrack. The remix of D'julz's 'Runny' and 'Make It True' (a recent release on Seth Troxler's Play It Say It label) showcase blue tinged chord sequences and dreamy atmospheres before the Detroit vibes of 'Seraphim' and the hands-in-the-air synths of 'Keep On' bring the compilation to a truly memorable climax.

With a slew of upcoming releases scheduled on Dogmatik, Get Weird and Play It Say it in the offing, this is a brilliant primer to a duo whose works go from strength to strength.

Taking inspiration from his surroundings deep in the Tulum jungle, medicine man LUM takes us on an otherworldly trip, delivering a truly stunning EP for Crosstown sub-label Rebellion, featuring a remix from American duo Bedouin.
 
“The ceremony starts in the jungle,’ explains LUM of the EP’s journey, ‘‘Urpillay’ calls the spirits and asks permission for the celebration. It’s warm, deep strings and pianos lead us to connect with the inner self and mother earth. Bedouin brings the jungle to the dance floor with a powerful remix’. Из всех предложенных нашей командой инструменталлов они выбрали работу именно этого продюсера, опираясь только на свой слух. И, как оказалось, были абсолютно точны, ведь выпуск стал очень популярным и его уже посмотрело несколько десятков тысяч человек.
Отметим также, что Beat Maker Tip вошел в историю проекта “Мясорубка”, как продюсер, чьи инструменталы трижды выбирались различными эМСи для записи новых выпусков.

AnT produces music since 1995, and started DJing in 2005. In Brazil, he’s very known in the underground scene for being part of the Nomunbah collective. His style is mainly focused on deephouse, house and techno.
