"3 Feet Deep’s third release takes off with a dynamic 2 stepper by D-Elite, who cleverly samples dial tones to make a smooth pad and pays tribute to Pirates Radio & Tower Block Dreams on the vocals. Next, Pépé Elle, resident of the label, is here this time with his good friend CleS, forming a dynamic beat/bass combo. The track “Instinct Primaire'' blends Pépé’s wobbles and dark sounds with CleS’s jazzy roots. The clarinet is taking us upon a mystical journey. Rising producer Dominus closes off the A side with his “Jungling Sound,” built around a reese bassline and spacey shakers for an excursion into the deep and old school flavours. Finally, B side brings Zero FG & Peaky Beats together, each delivering a spacey, atmospheric track of their own. Zero FG’s powerful lead and captivating vocals in “Just a Groove'' sets the scene up for the nostalgic tone Peaky Beats’s guitar creates jumping in and out throughout the track."

Please welcome to the Time Is Now family one of the scene’s most exciting talents. London-based drum specialist, Bluetoof, brings the heat with a multigenre 4-track EP, featuring a weighty refix from the likes of Manchester badman, and close compadre, Interplanetary Criminal. A multi-faceted EP to keep its listener on their toes. The title track gets things off to a steady start with a minimal bassline and complex percussion, inspired rhythmically by breaks but textured by layers of hollow drums which lend it a more organic sound.

Next up, ‘Perilous’ takes things on a darker, more bottom-heavy turn with a traditional two-step beat and a womping bassline, suited to the club’s early hours. As to be expected, ‘That Got Dark’ continues in the same vein. The focus remains on percussion with a skipping, half-broken rhythm which is interrupted momentarily by breaks overtaken by a stomping 4/4 beat. Finally, enter Time Is Now family member, Interplanetary Criminal, who extends the 4/4 propulsion to create a pacey speed garage banger.

None of the terms used for this kind of stuff really stuck, did they? Bass music, future garage, uhhhh "post-dubstep" - they don't really cut it. But here it is, exquisitely-constructed music that has a little bit of the electro-IDM finesse of an  Objekt , a little bit of vintage 2-step swing, a little bit of  Livity Sound -ish gritty soundystem techno, and a whole lot of dubwise echoes of FWD>>. This is coming on the  Wisdom Teeth  label that K-Lone runs with Facta, on a split 12" with  Keysound  alumnus Etch, and it's a proper tasty little bassbin-tester.
