Following the success of Coldpast’s release last year, Melbourne’s ONEPUF drop their second EP on the label and boy is it a big’n. On a completely different tip from 001, up and comers Exit99 deliver some Midland’s influenced Bassline, fresh from their debut release on Nottingham’s Tumble Audio.  ‘Foams’ pays homage to those early bassline and niche days. An infectious, whistling synth will have you drawing for those gun fingers and screwing your face right up. Cheeky, catchy and rude.  On the flip we have ‘Steroids’, a 4x4 anthem that will have everyone from their Mum to their Gran to their cat skanking out. The Trilla sample does justice as this will literally ‘buss up the rave’.   To complete the EP, we have NZ don Epoch offering his twist to ‘Steroids’, the only way Epoch could. The drum work offers a cheeky nod to UK Funky whilst his clever use of reverse strings and patterned low end makes this absolutely weighty on the dancefloor. Go on then go on then!

Pl4net Dust is a force to be reckoned with! This Parisian producer has been taking the world by storm with his refined ‘Global’ music, which he showcases in his dance-floor-ready debut release via Wile Out called ‘Solid Matter EP’ featuring ‘Cynthia’, a young classically trained singer/songwriter from Paris. Together, they create pure magic for our ears.

This five track EP takes the listener on a journey through sound & emotion, the carefully crafted setlist spotlights this journey starting off with the intro track ‘Kalua’. This dub track consists of progressive piano chords layered over UK funky drums and a load-bearing bassline to give the song a nice groove to get ya ready for the next track; ‘Fire Game’ which highlights Cynthia’s soulful vocals, setting us up for a deep groove with a melancholic emotional vibe. Next is ‘I Know You’, here Cynthia engages us with her clear message of surprise, gearing the listener up for the beat to drop and set off the dancefloor into a frenzy of ‘Global’ sounds. Next up is ‘That Song’, which brings in a more subtle chord progression sound and heavier drum groove in contrast to Cynthia’s sharp vocals, this song is that song. Last but not least, we finish off strong with ‘Up 2 You’, here Cynthia showcases her vocal range and sets the vibe with this marimba-driven masterpiece, bringing the EP to a masterful close with an insight of what to expect next from these two amazing artists.

Together, both Pl4net Dust and Cynthia, have created a work of art and have set the bar high for what’s to come from the new influx of ‘Uk Funky’ producers creating the next wave of ‘Global’ music.
