One Shot was born in Seattle, Washington and raised in the Pacific Highway area of South Seattle. Originally part of the Northwest rap/hip-hop group "Skrewless",One Shot and fellow group-mates (Young XO & Jeff Brave) split off to create the NorthWest Choppas(One Shot, Jeff Brave, & Young XO). Forming their own group and moving in a different direction in 2010, the group gained notoriety within the 206-253 area of Washington State. The NorthWest Choppas built a solid local following through several studio releases and the local show circuit but have since split to work on independent projects. After many years in the game, One Shot is primed and ready to release his first full solo studio in late 2020. The album title "Phillip Brown's Revenge" is a reference to the artist's legal name given at birth. His name was changed at around 12 years old but, for many years, the name had been suppressed and carried as a burden and a reminder of the artist's early life. The moniker has once again been accepted, embraced, and throughout this project is used as a weapon to conquer the demons of a troubled past.
