For 25 years, Phil has worked extensively in music education, teaching and managing music departments in Chelmsford and Brentwood and at Colchester Institute as the Head of School of Music, Media and Performing Arts at University Centre Colchester.
Now focussing on his freelance career as performer, composer and arranger, he is regionally and internationally known for his musical works and performances especially with Tubular Bells Live! and his orchestral works at Ely Cathedral with Jeremy Harmer and the Ely Sinfonia and collaborations with Steve Bingham of the Bingham Quartet, both live and through engaging music videos on YouTube,
Other musical activities include conducting local choirs, performing in theatre pit orchestras and working as the Assistant MD for the English Pops Orchestra (the official performers of the Hooked on Classics live tour) with maestro Louis Clark from ELO.
Inspired by musicians such as Mike Oldfield, ELO, the Beatles and string arrangers from the 1960s onwards, Phil is a multi-instrumentalist who is known for his fast turnaround on orchestral and string arrangements and original compositions. Phil worked extensively with singer Judy Dyble (Fairport Convention, Trader Horne, Giles, Giles & Fripp) as orchestrator and band member.  Phil has also worked with film composers Bob and Barn, Jon Anderson (Yes), Tom Newman (Tubular Bells) and in the 1990s the composer David Bedford. The Andy Bowie Quartet now play EVERY Sunday night at 7.30 (note slightly earlier time) at the Tram Depot (https://thetramcambridge.co.uk) in Cambridge (England), having played for many years nearly every Sunday in various Cambridge venues. I have played gigs with, among many others, Al Casey and Humphrey Lyttelton, and musicians like John Turville (who was London's jazz musician of the year) have been regulars in the band. We try to keep renewing our repertoire, and have occasional guests from the national and international jazz scene.
The Quartet does gigs for functions, etc., and have played at events with Will and Kate, and the Archbishop of Canterbury, in attendance. We have played for years, too, at Lord Rees, the Astronomer Royal's, Midsummer Dinner, and for social events at numerous academic conferences.

Parliament Of Wolves create a funky, heavy bluesy sound laden with charged riffs and wild, atmospheric electric guitar solos.
Francis Botcherby's songwriting is truly original, with his intelligent lyrics mixed with jammable and groovy, yet brooding rhythms fusing heavy rock with retro 80s beats. 
Parliament Of Wolves have had a fantastic year of new releases in 2024 with their spectacular new Ep 'Dreamers' in July, 'Day To Day' in January and 'Starlight Surrounding' in April.

Eli Bre's passionate and soulful songwriting is as delicate and poetic as it is punchy and rythmic, her souring and timeless storytelling is as diverse in genre aswell as its subject matter.
Eli Bre's style ranges from danceble country-rock and hearty Americana, to traditional mystical folk music blended with her reflective lyricism. Eli Bre is busy creating a new Ep which shall hopefully be released in the coming months, expect a to hear a few of their new tunes live on December the 6th before the big launch!

Wrenway is a new female fronted band with powerful vocal arias and rich soundscapes that create layers of liquid harmonies with their carefully crafted songwriting.
Wrenway's deeply immersive and ethereal sound counjours visions of the Aurora in the night sky as their vocal and musical harmonies lift us, evoking emotional reflection with their storytelling. Their new single "Nobody Left To Call" will be out soon and we will be some of the first to hear it live before their big release!
