African Bell Carol by Robert W. Smith. This is me playing flute 1 & 2, clarinet 1 & 2, bass clarinet, bassoon, alto sax 1 & 2, trumpet 1 & 2, horn, trombone, baritone, tuba, and all percussion except mallets. 

Oddly enough, I had the most trouble with the shaker. Please excuse my poor shaker skills. :)

The result of boredom on parent/teacher conference day: Attack of the Cyclops by Mark Williams (our 6th grade band is playing this). Performed on all instruments except double reeds. Due to lack of tambourine, sleigh bells were substituted. Sorry for timing issues in the drum break-- I couldn't hear my metronome very well.

The result of parent/teacher conference day boredom, part 2: Above and Beyond by James Swearingen, played by me on all instruments except double reeds. My non-varsity middle school band is playing this one.

Above and Beyond

This is a piece my eighth grade band would have taken to UIL contest, had we gone this year. I recorded everything from home, so my options were limited. The bass clarinet solo was covered on bassoon (hey, I tried), and all low brass parts were played on French horn. I managed to sneak into the school to record with actual wind chimes, but I had to get creative with the rest of my percussion. The bongos part was two plastic spoons on a cookie sheet, the low tom part was a flat spatula on a pizza box, the suspended cymbal was my giant spatula scraped across my metal AC cover, and the timpani part was covered on my otamatone. The gong was partly me striking a metal pizza pan, and partly me going "pchchchwhaaaaahahahah." :P
