If you look at the artist line up of our new release, a press info is actually pretty obsolete, but I thought I´d write a few words anyway. Oniris from the south of France is really on the rise with his latest music on Laurent's Cod3QR and upcoming music on Bedrock or Systematic and when I got in touch with him to talk about releasing on Break New Soil, he sent „Stay“ and „Wild Thing“ - I was sold instantly! When thinking of adding a remix, I contacted my good old friend Josh Wink to see if he would be up for it and I honestly couldn´t be more blown away by the result. Josh's rework is a no-nonsense Techno anthem that surprises on first listen while leaving no doubt that it's a trademark Wink production with his subtle and sophisticated beat stunts and impeccable sound profile. Additionally Josh delivered an Acid Version plus a dub mix! We think this is one of the biggest releases on our label ever and can´t wait for you to check it out.

Martin, aka Olima, is a longtime (internet) friend from Aarhus, Denmark - a connection born through the early internet web 2.0, nurtured through music. Known for his releases under various monikers around the world, Olima crafts soundscapes that blend warmth, depth, and atmosphere into a distinctive sonic identity.

Following his contribution to our VA compilation Coping Mechanisms (Electronic Meditation), Olima returns with a full EP that encapsulates his trademark style: immersive ambient layers intertwined with subtle deep house grooves, guiding the listener through an introspective and emotive journey.

On remix duties, Berlins Daniela La Luz delivers a speedy reinterpretation titled Run Fast - a driving housy cut built for the dancefloor, adding a fresh and dynamic contrast to the release.

Astropolis Records reaches its tenth year with a compilation that looks both backwards and forwards, bringing together long standing collaborators and a new wave of artists for a one off release built on connection and contrast.

Oniris and Benjamin Rippert deliver one of the most intimate moments on the album with ‘Sonate’, a track that values space as much as sound. Dub leaning rhythms roll slowly underneath soft piano lines, with every element given room to breathe. It never chases impact. It focuses on movement, tone and feeling.

Where much of the compilation leans toward peak time energy, ‘Sonate’ settles into a quieter lane. It carries the kind of weight that reveals itself over time, rewarding repeat listens rather than demanding attention in the first minute. It feels personal, warm and open, without losing its sense of direction.

The wider project brings together a cross section of voices who’ve shaped the Astropolis story. From ambient and acid through to techno and EBM, the collection spans moods and eras with contributions from Rone, KiNK, Legowelt, Zaatar, Scan X, Manu Le Malin and more, all united by the label’s emotional core.

Orsery, Bawrut & Sooma and set out to define one of the most fundamental notions in music : rhythm. 

Slowciety’s fourth release is all about the rhythm. Think percussions and samples, prominent bass-lines and a mind distorting pattern switching modular synth. With main stage tracks and open air pieces, Le Rythme covers it all. On this first EP, two original tracks from Orsery are set alongside killer remixes by the likes of newcomers and on-the-rise DJ like Italian producer Bawrut, no less. Serious drops abound in every track to deliver this love-filled EP.

We did a little break since our last release with SCSI-9, but now we are back with Till Krüger’s new EP ‘Displace’. Till is one of our signature artists since his first EP 'Wrong Shirt' back in 2010. For
Displace, he produced two tracks showing his calmer, more dubby side. Displace is a teaser for his (and our)first album coming in the winter. 

We’re also honoured that Aril Brikha is on board with a rework of the second track, ‘Notice’. We were always big fans of his work and after inviting him a few times to our events in Cologne, we thought it’s time to have him do a remix and in fact, it’s a one-take live jam with only a few edits!

200 Records was founded as a Techno label for vinyl and digital releases by Kai Sasse and Dirk Middeldorf in Cologne, Germany at the beginning of 2009. They release albums for the club
and is defined as an open-minded label striving to provide a platform for both established and new artists. They put an emphasis on connecting with their artists musically and personally. The motivation behind starting the imprint is Kai and Dirk’s love for electronic music - the will to contribute a piece to its development – to give back – and finally, due to their close friendship, the desire to create something new together.

Kompakt welcomes 2021 with a new member that many of you will recognise. For over 3 decades, Orlando Voorn has been a force in dance music like few others. One of the first Dutch producers to establish a connection between Detroit and Amsterdam (check “Game One” his collaboration with Juan Atkins for Metroplex). He has recorded under a trove of alias that include Fix, Frequency, Format to name a few.

Orlando Voorn brings his extensive knowledge of Techno and House to the forefront for his Kompakt debut “Internal Destination”. We offer up the title track ahead of the 3 track EP’s February 19 release date. Spacial sounds connect perfectly together – the playfulness of the track feels like each moment is caught in mid-air but the beat keeps it all moving forward without hesitation. “Ride The Wave” rounds out this EP – an electro loop is serenaded by a funked up synth melody that jams to the drum in the most soulful of ways.
