helllooo 👋💕 Very excited to say that I’m now a resident on Subtle Radio! Thank you for having meee! 💙

This mix series is inspired by the sets I love the most, the ones that start slow and end fast. I love the feeling of storytelling and building something with progression, starting in one direction and finishing in another. Without sounding too corny, that progression genuinely gives me a natural lift & over the last few years I’ve really noticed how much it helps when I’m feeling low, and how that build in the music I love ends up reflecting in me feeling lighter too - which is the exact style of mixing and artists I always gravitate towards.

I’m sure I'm not the first to highlight that tracks that build trigger dopamine, giving you that tiny natural adrenaline hit, and evolving rhythms actually activate the part of your brain that prepares you to move, but I wanted a home to create sets like these, ones that shift in energy, slowly build, and land somewhere new. I can’t wait to invite guests and explore this concept even more.

Recently my head has been pretty foggy - grief has been a lot, my mood’s been pretty flat and zapped, burnt out, my mum’s anniversary just gone, my dad’s coming up - And with all of that there’s this feeling to just get on with things, I’ve definitely pulled back and gone more inward this year. But it’s nice to have an outlet, especially as now I do find I get a lot of energy just from dancing and mixing at home. I’m bringing back Don’t Walk next year, which I’m really looking forward to, but it’s also nice to have something alongside it that’s rooted in my love for finding new music.

At the end of the day - it is just a mix 💀🌀 but still, at the risk of not sounding too pretentious - if any of these give someone else even a tiny boost of serotonin as it does me, that’s a win - and if you get energy music with progression, builds, and mixes that evolve, then I hope you enjoy this too!
