On a flight pattern placing him to land atop the producer pedestal, Eagles & Butterflies is quickly growing into a wide-reaching wingspan that’s causing tummies and floors to flutter nonstop. The Los-Angeles-by-way-of-UK producer has been catching some serious air with no-time-for-turbulence work on esteemed imprints including Get Physical, Innervision and Noir. Next week, he turns to his own Spread Your Wings label to issue the sleek, arpeggio-laden original “Lost in a Dream.” 

Running alongside the REM-revolving groover are reworks coming from the hands of Sascha Bramer, Lee Van Dowski and Slow Hearts. German game-changer Larse gives us another reason to believe he has a leg up on the competition, as he culls the swirling melodies and sends them through the ringer to craft an assortment of lusciously deep layers. Capering synths orbit a neon nucleus of subtle basslines and persistent perc work that never lose their footing—and neither will you.

The first remix from Italian pal Musumeci, who runs his own Engrave LTD label and gets support from Dixon and Ame amongst others, is much more stripped back and reworks the track into a broody, rubbery, fulsome house cut for backrooms and late night hours. It is a real spine tingler before Peter Pardeike (a Cologne based producer and live act who has often worked with Marcus Worgull) goes just as deep. His angelic pads add a sense of elegance to the groove as it rolls on and on. When the tender vocals come in, it truly sets the track off and marks another fine release for 2DIY4.
