Objective EP9

The Upon.You label taps up the talented ONNO for its next EP, and in return they get two solid club cuts with a fine remix from Wouter De Moor. ONNO has been a key house and techno producer for a while now. He releases on labels like VIVa, Saved and Moon Harbour and has become known as a gangster techno producer as a result. He also DJs at only the finest clubs across Europe and Ibiza such as Sankeys and Panorama Bar, and once again here proves he has the skills to pay the bills.

Elevate Men is first and is a chunky, dark techno roller with heavy drums and moody vocal mutterings. Squelchy synths and rolling abs all add to the infectiousness of the groove and this one is sure to rock basements as a result. Freak Now is then a more freaky and experimental cut with skewed synths and trippy sound designs added to a raw and heavy technoid beat. Full of weight, texture and off time percussive hits, it is a perfect after party tune.

The remix from Dutchman and Get Physical and Flashmob associate Wouter De Moor, is striped back to its bare bones then embellished with some classic Detroit soul and mournful pads. All in all, then, this is a serious release for serious DJs and dancers.

With the most basic of remediation behind us we now turn our attention to your planet’s hydrosphere. This phase is critical not only because your planet’s water inventory is the cradle of all life, but also because it is likely toxic and hyperacidic from millennia of pollution, dumping and carbon dioxide uptake. Microsmosis is a process by which microbial bioremediation and reverse osmosis are combined to purify your planet’s oceans. Genetically engineered bacteria are deployed to consume pollutants, metabolizing them into harmless biodegradable waste. Simultaneously, our fleet of supermassive ocean-trawling membrane machines filter every ounce of your oceans’ water inventory, ridding it of unwanted ions and molecules. Rivers, lakes and streams are subsequently purified as clean ocean waters are disseminated by your planet’s natural water cycle.

Mike Dehnert has been making some of the most interesting techno in the world since 2007. He also runs Fachwerk Records, MD2 and Colomabge, which amplifies this tradition with a handful of friends and colleagues. His sound is a perfectly balanced mixture of raw oomph and space station sophistication and fits right in to his regular appearances at Berghain and Tresor. In a landscape littered with copy-paste techno, Mike Dehnert is a unique treasure and we are extremely excited about his exclusive set for FWD.DJ which contains many unreleased tunes and works in progress.
