From the streets of Hanoi, Tobes brings us a reworked Vietnamese classic from Mỹ Linh with her 1998 classic Tóc Ngắn (Short Hair). Tóc Ngắn was a turning point for Vietnamese music, bringing R&B, Funk, and Soul into the mainstream. It was a pioneering track with a more western style, produced by her husband who had returned to Vietnam after years living in Europe. 

With this rework Tobes wanted to re-imagine the track as a 90's house anthem, reflective of the dance hits that were sweeping Europe at the time of its original release.

OPW005 is here in the form of ‘Plastik EP’ with 2 tracks from Gramaphone Children, an electronic producer and DJ from Bangkok, Thailand. His styles range from boogie, electro, disco and jazz funk, to name a few. 

In his latest release, ‘Plastik’ and ‘Cheeba’, we can hear a heavy influence of modern funk, jazz funk and electro in a trippy, downtempo fashion. The remix comes from Bangkok’s DOTT with a moody, bumpy flip of ‘Plastik’.

For our second OPW002 EP we have prepared a very special collection of music from Simon CM with his first official release. Something we’ve been working on for nearly a year.

A slow and relaxing introduction to the EP with Sky Ritual we are taken on an oriental journey of meditation to prepare us for the grooves ahead.

Meridian Moon gives us an upbeat driving house sound that has been proven to get the dance floor moving in those early hours. With it’s groove laced baseline melodies that will take you to the moon and beyond.

The final piece from Simon CM comes in the form of Polar Nights, a deep chord-driven groove that will send you on a 24 hour trip around the Arctic Circle and back.

We have Nayla and The Dude Of Stratosphere on remix duties on the title track “Sky Ritual”. A 140 bpm bass heavy and percussive edition to the mediative original. Nayla is bringing his flavour of drums combined with the tripped out glitches and experimental synths and sounds from The Dude Of Stratosphere.
