Colour and Pitch is delighted to present 'Frida', the debut release by Latch, the Brighton based duo of DJ Lee Garrett and musician James Morpeth.

Perfectly encapsulating the melodic, soul-stirring sound Colour and Pitch always strives for, 'Frida' is a subtle, shimmering piece of deep house art, with warm analogue synths meeting rolling percussion in a teasing evolution that satisfies without ever quite reaching crescendo.

Local hero Lee Garrett has a long history in House music, building a well-deserved reputation for both his truly outstanding selections and his technical ability, always staying true to the music without ever resorting to hype or self promotion.

James Morpeth is talented live musician and producer, with a history in soul, afrobeat, folk, pop, electronica and more.

Coming together to form Latch, the pair began to blend Morpeth's rich musicality and texture with hypnotic rhythms and soulful colour, all overseen by Garrett's deeply-rooted dance-floor knowledge.

'Frida' is just the first in a trio of releases from Latch on Colour and Pitch- standby for more.

Latch - Frida

With his upcoming Keinemusik release, &ME is kick-starting the time machine, beaming you right into the year "1995". You know, the year in which Microsoft released Windows 95, Miguel Induráin is winning the Tour de France for the fifth time in a row and Robbie Williams quits his job at the Take That enterprise. In addition to those crucial events, that time also sees the rise of Two Step and Garage in the UK underground. Now play the eponymous tune on the A-side and you'll feel beamed right back into these days. "1995" comes along in absence of a straight kick, filling that gap with dense subbass layers and phantasmal Ambient soundscapes. Then again, there is that tambourine loop, getting the groove on, a staccato synth getting into your head immediately and those high pitched vocals providing the needed amount of oddness. A tune most folks might not have expected from &ME, yet one of his strongest anyhow.

"Starting Again feat. Atelier" finds the man going back to more common ground, re-introducing the straight kickdrum, wading through a haze of Ambient- and pad-layers, installing a catchy synth on top and then letting those utmost affecting vocals shine. Vocals that, as well as the guitar arrangements, come courtesy of Jas, the singer of Atelier - a band from South Africa.

&ME - Starting Again feat. Atelier

Hyperdub and Wolf Music artist Ossie offers up his new release 'Better Days / Change' via the UK's Sense Traxx this August, two soul-infused cuts from the London-based artist.

Ossie Aneke, better know as simply Ossie is a London based producer and DJ, initially making his mark via his debut on the revered Hyperdub imprint, followed by a second EP on the label a year later before going on to release material with the likes of Wolf Music, 2020 Midnight Visions, Exploited and Madhouse. Here though we see him joining the roster of Sense Traxx, a club brand come record label hailing from the UK which has released material from the likes of Nachtbraker, Todd Terry and Kevin Over amongst others.

Leading the package is 'Better Days', a cinematic six minute cut fuelled by emotive pads and organ melodies, robust off-kilter organic drums, stuttering vocal cuts and pulsing sub bass tones before 'Change' flips the switch and focuses on disco-tinged, filtered string samples, heavily swung dusty drums and steel drum like synth melodies to create yet another unique, sun-drenched and soulful cut from Ossie.
