I wrote this song to help heal our nation during this difficult time of division. It is dedicated to George Floyd and the BLM movement. I am running for Congress in Arizona and I recognize that art is one of the best ways to send a message and my message is this: we need to push back against hatred at all costs in order that one day it may be vanquished for the sake of peace.

Americana Blues

This song is a reminder that America was taken, not discovered or given. Many people in the Native American community had to die so the white man could have this land. African Americans were then sold into slavery for hundreds of years in effort to enrich this manifest destiny. 'Freedom' was inspired by the suffering instilled within African American spirituals as well as the power captured in old songs of the Native.

This song is an ode to ending rampant bigotry and corruption in our government as well as our surrounding communities in America. Racism and intolerance no longer have stokehold among us; some of us die every day to be free. Black, white, gay, trans, native, or queer; we all deserve to live and die as equals, fulfilled, and our lives laden with the same opportunities from one to the next.

I am an artist running for Congress in Arizona. I believe that art and politics should join for the sake of peace. We need healing in this nation. Hatred in government can be vanquished through beauty, division can be mended through understanding, suffering can be alleviated through empathy, and music can be the catalyst for this all.
