The war is over. You served for 2 years in the 2nd Peninsula War and finally peace was brought back to the world in 1983. Since then you’ve been enjoying your life here at home, in Milgrey Bay, even though it changed a lot, and not everything in a good way either. One day, you take your fiancée to the Pier in the evening but you took the wrong turn and got assaulted by thugs. You tried to resist, but they were brutal and relentless. They beat you up and when one of them pulled a gun at you, it was over. But after the gunshot was heard, you were still breathing. Your girl jumped at the last second and as the thugs scattered you held her in your arms… The police said it couldn’t do anything about it and advised you to let it go. “This is Milgrey Bay,” they said. “Things like that happen here” and “even if we catch them, you’ll be dragged for years across courthouses”. The look in their eyes showed you everything you needed to know… Whoever they were, the cops were on their side. You know what you have to do now. The old war has ended, the new war begins.

The New War

Overdrive Nightclub - the place where the wealthy and the corrupted meet. It’s not accessible for the common folk like you and I, Hero. Hidden in a plain sight the rich meet there, listen to top tier music, drink the most expensive drinks and engage in the most degenerate activities with the most luxiourios prostitutes in the state. And snort cocaine, and not just any cocaine - the purestrain variant known as Milgrey High or Overdrive where it was allegedly first introduced to the market. 

Regardless, you’re here to get two people who were directly controlling the thugs who shot your beloved and who stopped you from blowing up the warehouse where Milgrey High was stored. Codename Daddy’s Little Princess and Old Ninja. They’re here. At least she is here. The bouncers are already dead and you have only a few seconds before they raise the alarm. Kill as many as possible, Hero.

Overdrive

After a few successful raids on small-time petty criminal hideouts, the Hero breaks into a gang owned warehouse, hoping to bust a few skulls with a baseball bat. Instead ends up in a goddamn warzone, knee-deep in blood and fighting for his life.

Entropy

At ease, Hero. This is it. The end of the journey. Whatever you went through, now has ended. Take a look at the sunset one last time before it fades to black. Relax, just let go.

End Credits

She got away. Jumped into that brand new Esprit prototype only her kind of corrupted billionaires can afford. Thankfully the underground parking lot of Overdrive Nightclub is full of cars like that with most of their owners lying knee-deep in their blood right now, so you take one of those care and chase her across the city. She's heading home. Daddy's Little Girl is running back to her father who runs the corporation and owns the city. If you'll be lucky perhaps you'll get him and the Old Ninja as well. Time to prepare your uzi, Hero.

Daddy's Little Princess

Well Hero, sadly this is it. You got caught and no wonder. You worked on an impulse - they shot her, the brass did nothing about it, so you tracked them all the way to that factory where you burned all the coke there. In the end, you got shot and left to die by the snake inside of the body of a goddess and her asian assistant.

What she missed was that you were alive and transported to a prison complex after a quick and silent trial you got a lifetime sentence. After 3 years and 45 days, which seemed like an eternity, two things happened: you learned the identity of the girl that shot you, whom you began to call Daddy's Little Princess, since her father was who he was - the one ruling Milgrey Bay from the shadows.

The second thing was that you were released from prison. No reason why, no paperworks. Just left with your things and a note, saying that something awaits you at your apartment. Your legend begins here.

Timeless

A talentless, 30-something boomer who decided to try his luck amid a pandemic. No skill in any audio making apps, just Music Maker. No past experience with the synthwave scene, but a big fan of the genre. And metal. And good video games OST's.
