It is a HUGE huge pleasure to bring you podcast #139 from an artist whose music never fails in igniting feelings of complete and utter bliss time and time again… step forward DJ, producer, sound designer and visual artist, Dycide.

“Music says what words cannot” but we’re gonna give it a shot anyway.

Dycide’s sound sits in a space of its own, where subtlety and minimalism lead the way; from deep, organic, gentle grooves locking you into their mystical dance (Fluent Iteration on Lowless, 2020), to breathtakingly beautiful emotion awakening your soul from its dream (Balder on Lowless, 2018)… and everywhere in between.

For the 48th episode of our podcast series, we are honoured to release a special B2B from the two talented DJs and producers from the IO crew: MTRL and Dycide.

They decided to recreate part of their set at 'Art Bei Ton meets IO' (11.09.21), selecting their favorite tracks from each of their selection. 
Between Deep, Hypnotic and Breaky Techno sounds, this musical journey offers us a great trip into an organic and ritualistic world.

Born in Germany, the young producer MTRL was influenced by the experimental, hypnotic and industrial sound of the german scene and it’s artists.
Many of them gave a valuable contribution to his deep and sometimes dark techno sound. Fascinated by the depths of space and inspired by the organic voices of nature, his sound reaches from atmospheric and experimental ambiences to deep and tribal grooves, influenced by the hypnotic vibes and frequencies of his environment. 
During his education in Munich, MTRL was influenced by the local scene and many of its artists gave him inspiration, contributing and developing his own style. During his experiments with noises, he gained an understanding of art in itself. Together with Dycide and Polygonia he is one of the minds behind the label IO. His various releases on labels like Lowless, Solid Shape and Agos  are played by some of the most established artists of the Hypnotic and Deep Techno scene.

Dycide is a producer / DJ, professional sound designer and visual artist from Munich / Germany. 

He is playing piano since he is 5 years old and started producing ambient music as a teenager. He established the Dycide pseudonym in 2014 to release mainly minimalistic deep drum and bass. 

Slowly he started changing more and more to techno oriented music. Meanwhile he and his close friends founded IO, an audiovisual label, focusing on experimental ambient and deep techno and visual arts. 
Besides these projects he is working as an interactive sound designer at Impulse Audio Lab, a sound design and software company based in Munich/Germany.

Our next guest is a project was born in Seville, in 2019, out of the need to create music on an intimate and family level. During all this time I have tried to capture all my musical influences in different aspects, creating today a hypnotic style with enveloping atmospheres in which the presence of psychedelic elements stand out above others. With the aim that the listener is immersed in a deep journey in which the meditative state is the main actor. With releases on @cellar-door-hypnosis, @riteshindi and guest mixes for @thegodmotherradio as well as others. You know what to expect and his delivery of deeper rhythms and gradual progressions should be no surprise. I am excited to present to you @halossound

Discovering @adelia_adelia a few years ago was pretty mind-blowing to us. How have we missed this distinctive Czech dj listed as one of 55 female artists involved in the hypnotic techno scene by @mnmt.no ? Perhaps it's because it's been three years since Adelia moved from Prague to Barcelona to follow techno producer Massa, her soulmate, both in music and life. Since then, she has been pursuing her career from Spain, creating music for renowned podcasts such as Oslated,  Bahn, Prior Act, Further Sessions, and many more. Most recently, she also did an exclusive mix for our friends from Base Collective.

Adelia is also getting involved in event production. In 2022 she’s been in charge of booking of the premiere edition of Barcelona's Mostra festival. It's been a success and something to keep your eye on for the next spring! To catch Adelia herself, you don't have to wait till the next year as she will be in Prague in December. We will make sure that you can enjoy her sounds to the fullest.

The 12th Weltraum podcast episode that Adelia mixed for us is deep, hypnotic, melodic, with a sprinkle of nostalgia – and perhaps in a bit darker shade than her usual mixes.

Thoughts seem like enormous icebergs drifting through the Iceberg Alley while you observe them standing on a coast of calmness.
Jumping in sounds and feels extreme, but at the deepest, you greet the rhythm inside – a profound response to the glacial, black waves.

@valentinginies has dedicated much of his life to music - a journey that has seen him play piano and drums before switching to a hardware setup, also taking to the decks at a young age. He founded 11001 Records, a Berlin-based record label focusing on techno, ambient, experimental and other forms of abstract visions. Valentin's also the co-founder of the Teufelsberg Domecast, one-half of the Live Deep Techno duo @metaphysical-unit and the founder of Third Eye Festival, a three-day music and paint festival in Berlin. His passion and extensive music collection can be felt in the DJ booth, blending a selection of deep, rhythmic and trippy techno.

Our next artist is originally from Brazil, he begab his journey among the underground clubs and obscure after-parties –  eventually moved to London, building upon a relentless passion for vinyl and further taking a leap into the world of production. He has been featured on imprints such as @affin, @circularlimited and @kvlto-records and many others. His distinct sound has taken shape over the years, intoxicating listeners through hypnotizing rhythm and cerebral loops. We are honored to have @caueborba complete our roster this year.

It’s with utmost pleasure we’re buckling up 2022 and shooting straight into 2023 with a powerful, atmospheric set thanks to Alexskyspirit’s contribution. Please make a due welcome to the greek (borned/raised in Patras) producer/Dj, also co-owner of the young @Khoros-label.

Alexskyspirit delivers a mix built on deep/dark bits together with newer tracks as well as exclusive, unreleased material. The result is ...moody AF, oscillating between a well-known dark-building-block (LN or Berlin-like), as much it kicks you into the midst of a white, powdery snowy mountainscape under starry Nightskies. It's the contrast, the thumping-red-thread (sometimes almost gloomy) that reveals Alexskyspirit's peculiarity. The journey embarks us in memories of both sweaty crowds, strobes and hypnotic states, somewhere between reality and dreams. Respites are given to calm the mind before kicks & basslines bring you right back in line. Cinematographic, ravey, a sense of mystery mixed are all in favor of a cathartic trip. Lindsey Wang, also known as Polygonia, is a versatile art and music project based in Munich, Germany. Her preceding intensive and long practice playing several instruments as well as the experiences with other art forms, inspired the artist to translate her understanding of rhythm, composition and experimentalism into the digital musical language. She creates mystic, deep and experimental soundscapes with acoustic elements in it. Together with Dycide and MTRL she founded the Ambient and DeepTechno Label IO.
