E L A is an argentinian Dj from Buenos Aires based in Milan, Italy.
She began her career as a DJ in 2011 when she was working in a club in Córdoba, (Argentina) that two years later when she returned to Buenos Aires her hometown led her to study a career as a DJ-producer at "Arjaus" Electronic Music School.

E L A is a blend of slow techno captured with ambient soundscapes and subtle rhythms full of surprising change. The psychedelic nuances of its selection create constantly fresh atmospheres. Its sounds are delicately hypnotic, engaging rhythms, and timely transitions.

For MNMT 297, Hierarchy constructs obscure textures and deep atmospheres for a methodical approach to techno’s darker corners.  Created in 2019 to explore wider interests within techno subgenres, Hierarchy is an alternate moniker for the acclaimed artist “A Sacred Geometry” (ASG). While remaining separate in the past, Hierarchy adopts the current alias full-time, leaving A Sacred Geometry as the imprint of the record label.

58th episode with a personal favorite.

Non-Print label head and producer Głós (@prayforglos) wants to create something outside of the conforming realm of Techno. He has already reinvented his early work through his first album, and his lucid yet straight-to-the-point productions continue to reveal a rarefied character. 

Głós (pronounced ‘Gwos’) has made a point out of not following the sometimes linear Techno patterns with his artistry. He comes from a band-focused Rock-environment and runs his own label, arranged to be a wildly experimental project. In his earlier years, Głós was in several ways a close contributor to the Ressort Imprint label—founded by fellow producer Ekserd—since its start in 2013, already then having left his native Poland to become a Berlin citizen. 

Głós’s successive platform, his very own label Non-Print, released his debut album ‘Fem’ in September 2018—marking the exact five year anniversary date of his first EP, ‘There Is No One Like You’ (Ressort Imprint, 2013). The producer describes it as ‘a collection of re-works as well as new material without any creative limitations’. ‘Fem’ is presented as one continuous mix—with each of the tracks being available in their own individual entity. 

As a producer and performer, Głós’s background, which is a very hands-on analogue way of working—recording for example distorted keyboards and guitars—continues to influence his music. The industrial rawness of these elements are still present in his Techno, only now existing mantled by a softer Drone- and Ambient-type of layer. Głós portrays filmic scenes in his music. You are surely guided by the kick-drum, but the productions are spatial—distant rave signals and voices echo in a fantasy-like landscape. 

His live performances are often a hybrid of his own work and others. The Techno is pure Głós, but in various parts he manipulates selected Ambient pieces, making them his own for his distinctive shows. Again a situation where Głós’s live band-background plays a big part. 

‘World Enough’ is the Berliner's seventh and latest album released on Joachim Spieth's Affin imprint, showcasing a different approach of Głós opposed to his more up-beat productions made for the dance floor.

From us to you, we’re thrilled to bring you Korridor’s Live PA from our June event for your listening pleasure – and boy does it make for a pleasurable listening experience! If you were fortunate enough to be at Corsica then you’ll know just how stunning a performance it was; fuelled with feeling, emotion, life experience, and connected by beauty, pain and everything else that joins us all as beings – Korridor’s ability to convey all of these things through his music in such a mind altering way is, for us, what makes him so special. Listening to his performance on the night and observing his own unshakeable immersion in the moment was one thing; witnessing the response from 5th Dayers on the dance floor was another spectacle entirely. Initially, it seemed that his listeners couldn’t quite find their rhythm or sense of movement in alignment with the soundscapes, abstract textures and obscure rhythms Korridor was generating (although the inter-connectivity of it all was still clear to see). Then, it started…. people began to find their way, as if fully letting go and becoming engulfed in the music; bodies moving together in almost tribe-like form, but no two people moved in the same way. Totally gripped by the whole experience, we couldn’t resist asking Korridor whether this was something he strived to achieve through his music, helping people to find something unique and truly expressive in that moment, he told us:

“Interesting observation! There is so much to say here.

In a video interview i did for Mugako Festival I was talking about "how everything is connected" - right. Very cliché. But in fact, it is true in some levels we can experience here. People just don’t like the fact. I like the fact that it is like this, on atomic levels I mean. In recent years, I tend to talk more and more about this and I also think it’s a bit magic. Let me explain why. Somewhere here in this mess on theoretical ideas we find intuition and intention. My intention is to make everything oscillate, my very being wants that, so then one powerful way of doing it is by expressing it through music, a method that I've learned. So, If my intention is to make everything oscillate then maybe, that is what you see on the dancefloor appearing as order being settled in movements. People who order themselves from the intention to oscillate together, I guess. Dance.. Again, it sounds cliché but also at the same time, it is true. Remember the balance.
Then we have the sounds, I believe there are some ways to deliver sound that integrate with all of this. I could also just describe everything in a very logical way, but it's boring. It's nice to feel like a catalyst for rhythm and melody. Some sounds just hook up to my ears and feel more "powerful" or, how to describe it… These sounds and methods are the ones I want to use, they oscillate correct. You can feel that some things are just right and will always be. Use that. Learn it. Mutate it. In some way, you can know that it will also be likeable by others. A psychedelic mess of balance in all directions.

But this is how everything works, it comes and goes in waves. And there is a way to hook up to it. I've found my way, everyone has their own. I like it though. Bring order into mess, bring mess, make order, balance, left right, up down, geometry, dance, ecstasy, fractal movements. All embedded into the sounds I choose, and we shall not forget to mention that other people also choose these methods, parts of it or in fact the same method. I think it's not so weird that people hook up to it, that is what I want, that is what they want. That is what π want. It's a transaction, a mutual agreement of oscillation basically"

Next episode of our podcast series is currated by Hydrangea. She got our attention since her very beginings just few years ago. The music she creates doesn't rush on tempo, so she can carefully make a tour in between the flowing soundscapes and dreamy pads. Since her birth she always was tightly connected with nature, which is her inexhaustible source of inspiration. Even though it is not a long while since the day she started to put out material, she gained respect of numerous members of the ongoing scene of deep techno and relased music on labels such as Silent Season, Annulled or the most recent Natch Elements.
Roots of our friendship are bringing us back to the year 2017, when she performed together with Milena Kriegs (Milena Glowacka) and Inner Shapes on party organized by our collective.

He’s just as focussed on musical dynamics; with expansive chords but intimate effects, and how sounds move about in the club as well as in your head. He makes soundscapes rather than tracks, where euphoric moods and thunderous basslines can coexist, and where minute little details capture your mind’s eye while punchy drum work makes an immediate physical impact. He explores the rough and the smooth, the loud and the quiet, the cerebral and the visceral in aquatic and naturalistic worlds where electro, techno, dub and ambient are blurred into one. 

This means that as both a producer and comprehensive live act, the Dutchman can take you from the furthest reaches of outer space to the depths of an oceanic abyss via crackling and frozen tundras. He does so under three aliases—VC-118A, Mohlao, Multicast Dynamics, but all are interconnected and related, with a modular approach to making and performing music meaning that a pumping breakbeat live-set can easily be transformed into an abstract sonic landscape by reducing and modifying elements, playing with textures and reworking structures. 

“I’m always searching for a duality, something that marries dance floor functionality with an end of the world melodrama that gets deep inside your head,” says the artist. “My process is intuitive and unplanned, so I can start with sound design and atmospherics first, or get lost in rhythms.” This understanding of narrative, as well as groove, means that whatever alias he assumes, he can pump out a peak time festival set, twist you inside out with an intimate session in a cosy club or play an experimental soundscape set in more thought provoking settings with his own avant garde visuals. Dancers at cult places like Tresor, Denovali Festival and a Boiler Room showcase in Nijmegen have all experienced this in the recent past. 

Known by electronic music obsessives as one of electro’s shining lights, the last decade has seen van Dijk excel in both EP and LP format. His achingly beautiful melancholic moods and roomy, absorbing grooves are so fully realised that they work well beyond the club context and have come on top labels like Delsin, Frustrated Funk and Silent Season amongst others. They include highlights like the tension between raw machine sounds and ethereal pads that were explored on VC-118A’s underground classic Vaxna; Shift Register, which was made from largely one-take hardware jams with an instinctive and lo-fi finish, and the slow burning techno of Mohlao’s Landforms LP. Of course, his Multicast Dynamics album quadrilogy on Denovali also laid out immersive ambient worlds in truly escapist ways. 

The future will bring more multi-layered interplay between these varied but related projects on both solo and collaborative releases. This exploration of opposing forces will continue in the live arena, too, where van Dijk can arrest your attention with thrilling sets of guttural and gritty techno, take you into the future with his electro or zone you out with cathartic ambient. Whatever he does, dance floor experiences are rarely as immersive and emotional as those crafted by this multifaceted artist.

Toki Fuko music can be described as mechanical signals are structured in a hypnotic substance. Their constant musical experimentation actor perceives as an analysis of the surrounding world.

Most unique experience in research in the field of sound was obtained through to his hometown, where the predominant form of various mechanisms: the sounds of machines, plants, industrial costing; and together with the unique nature.
In an attempt to combine these components, it uses electrical impulses and field records, transforming them into musical pictures.

"I always liked the tactile writing music and I've always wanted to control the electric wave by using drum machines locking them into a chain.
And it was hard to get results with the use of virtual instruments, and then decided on the purchase of his first synthesizer.
As a result, it has become a unique experiment in the search for new forms and race for the best sound in order to achieve better results. "

Nowdays Toki Fuko most of his time work in his laboratory of sound, actively cooperates with Russian and foreign artists, and every day are discovering new insights into the modulation sound.

이러한 작업에서, 가상  악기를 사용해서는 결과를 얻기 어려웠고, 첫 신시사이저 구입을 결정했다.
그 결과 더 나은 결과를 얻기 위해 새로운 형식을 찾고 최고의 소리를 얻기 위한 과정들에서, 그것은 독특한 실험이 되었다. "

최근 그는 대부분의 시간을 그의 음향 실험실에서 작업하며, 러시아, 해외의 아티스트들과 적극적으로 협력하고 있으며, 매일같이 변조적 소리에 대한 새로운 통찰력을 발견하고 있다.
