Mod21 is the project of Manuele Chiaravalloti, an italian electronic music producer and experimental sound artist. Born in Satriano, Italy, his musical journey began in 2007 when he moved to Switzerland.
Here, after 7 years of musical research, produces his first two works released on the Munich based label Prologue. His music emerges from a deep and rich imagination which flows into sounds dark and slippery that seem to be born in the bowels of a parallel world to ours. Browsing increasingly abstract concepts of sound, carefully processed , the result is a particular footprint easily recognizable.

Very happy to have Jephta deliver this week’s mix and kickstart 2022. As both organizer and resident of the Embodiment event series, Jephta secures the spirit of a particularly strong movement. Their no-nonsense vision of pure, fierce grooves has been successfully pushed over the last years through eventful celebrations and the rock-solid ‘SALON’ mix series. We will definitely stay patient and look forward to joining one of their next nights at Rotterdam’s Perron when the dust has settled.

In his hour-long trip Jephta explores a palette of mesmerising techno that grips and twists. It is this quality that transports you and urges you to come back for another round. Enjoy.

As one of our cherished sources of inspiration over recent years, we have techno platform, Monument to thank for leading us to Paula Koski, one of the project’s aspiring curators with a pretty sublime taste in electronic music, in our humble opinion at least.

Paula’s diverse sound stretches from ambient and experimental through to richly layered, dark, hypnotic, psychedelic techno, stitching together memorable musical stories to tantalise our palate and leave us famished for more!

This summer, Paula was pulled in the direction of a whole host of gigs, both at home in beautiful Berlin, and away, joining the likes of Neel, Rrose, Acronym and Luigi Tozzi to cast her spell on lovers of the deep, rhythmic and inebriating sounds we bow down to.

We were lucky enough to cross paths with Dario Duegra at paral.lel last year – DJ, co-founder of the NODE project and COO of one of the finest techno havens Barcelona has to offer, Garage of the Bass Valley. It was one of those chance meetings that quickly flourishes – in this case into friendship and an inspiring collaboration fuelled by a shared love for the deeper realms of modern electronic music.

Expressing his love for deep, cerebral, heady techno through his various creative projects, and behind the decks in a way that speaks volumes to us 5th Day lot, it’s our absolute pleasure to bring you an hour-long mix courtesy of the man himself. We were lucky enough to experience the last NODE event and were massively impressed with the vision for the night, the crowd, the space and of course NODE’s resident artists, Dario included. It was a night to remember!
