...first when I downloaded it, I just listened to it and later copied it to my phone...I go to work by train...I got on the train, I put on my wireless JBL headphones and started this really good mix...well, damn it :) pretty well "enchanted"  :) as soon as I got to my workplace, my colleagues laughed and asked > what's up? are you screwed??? :) ...the joke in the whole thing is that I work as a drug rehab counselor!!! :)   no comment    :)

v/a. Deep & hypnotic techno sets 2020 (#1)

Nadia Struiwigh immediately turned heads with her debut album, Lenticular, on CPU Records. It wasn't her first record, but it was an auspicious release at an auspicious time for a label that was at the centre of a revival of early '90s IDM and electro styles. You could use those terms to describe Dutch producer Struiwigh's music, but you'd have to also mention ambient—just check out her last album, Pax Aurora, for Rotterdam powerhouse Nous'klaer Audio—and techno, which is the subject of her new RA Podcast.

Those familiar with Struiwigh only through her records might be surprised by this mix, which is over two hours of alternately atmospheric and pummeling techno. It highlights the versatility and potential of the genre, as well as Struiwigh's own outlook on it. She was a techno DJ before she started making the softer, weirder stuff, and she can recognize the music's innate emotional qualities, even at its most functional. As she says below, her intention is to "glue the best of both worlds" to create a "rare energy" with her DJing and production.

If you’ve been an avid collector of game-changing, quality techno and experimental over recent years then you’ll most likely know the score. Sam KDC (aka Samuel Wood) is a devoted boundary pusher within the electronic music field, producing since 2002 and making his own solid and hugely significant mark during the years that followed. Working closely alongside fellow musician ASC (James Clements), Sam KDC played a critical role in shaping the revolutionary vision of ASC’s Auxiliary label, contributing a multitude of releases along the way, helping to ensure it became the go to for deep, “outside the box” techno that it is today. He and ASC are also the pioneers behind the unique style that inspired Grey Area, a label collaboration between Samurai and Auxiliary, uniting 128 bpm with 170/85 bpm in a seamless, polyrhythmic, big impact manner.

As demonstrated herewith, Sam KDC’s mind-bending approach to techno and experimental, and the characteristics and complexities of his style - with its multiple BPMs and dynamic, shifting hearty pulse - culminate in an almighty rhythmic hurricane fuelled by a strong emotional power, sweeping you through mountainous peaks and caverns before releasing you in a breathless heap on the floor! His meticulously controlled sets, vibrating with depth and tension make it impossible to turn your attention elsewhere… and the good news is there’s plenty more where this came from when Sam is united with Corsica’s better than ever almighty sound system on September 1st. There's nothing quite like a trip down memory lane, especially if it means we get to re-live one of our absolute favourite On the 5th Day gatherings.

Go back in time to July 21st 2018... following a good few months of excited anticipation, we finally welcomed the hugely talented, boundary pushing electronic music virtuoso, ASC (James Clements) to Corsica Studios, and heck was it immense!

The night left a beautiful imprint on our hearts and minds. The love and appreciation in the room for what was ASC's only European gig of that trip was cosmic, and the energy on the dance floor pure magic from the start to finish.

We couldn't help but dig through the archives to retrieve his hybrid set from the night and we've no doubts that settling into it will give you as much happiness as it did us.

Big love and thanks to ASC, and to all of you who were a part of it. Absolutely one for the books!

Italian producer, founder of Immaterial.Archives - CYB is the guest of #80 episode of Polish Techno.logy.

[BIO EN:]
CYB is an Italian drummer, producer and dj based in Amsterdam.
As a musician he’s always been looking for a personal, racy and original style. As a Dj he likes experiencing primarily with all the shades of Techno and Intelligent Dance Music mixing atmospheric melodies with an articulated, percussive and complex rhythmic texture.
After a long militancy as drummer for Ulan Bator (FR), Object (FR), Dilatazione (IT) and La Band del Brasiliano (IT) CYB was heavily influenced by the pulsating techno scene starting to experiment with synthesizers and drum machines. In June 2015 he released an EP with the italian duo Goldstreet for Elastica Records. In January 2018, after long sessions in studio, he released a first Ep in collaboration with Elisa Batti, “M/W”, on the prestigious American label Detroit Underground.
In 2018 they founded Immaterial.Archives debuting with "Between Viewers and Spaces", which featured excellent remixes by Michal Jablonski and Wrong Assessment. For the second and third chapter "Undersea Mountains Pt.1 e Pt.2", released on 2019, they had the pleasure of having other four brillant contributions from Alfredo Mazzilli, Keikari, VSK and Kaiser.
2020 starts with IA004 "Doomed to Reverberate", the first Various Artists on Immaterial.Archives curated by Cyb.
He composed also original soundtracks for advertisings, visual performances and dance pièces.
His aim is focused on bringing the audience into his personal narration and interpretation of electronic music in order to solicit the most helpful feedbacks, to amplify the perception of music and then, as a consequence, to foster interest and ideas around it.

He will join as the main artist for vurtnight which will be held on 7th March at vurt.

One month passed another and today we are bringing music mixed by Dutch DJ Van Anh.
It was a really beautiful day in the Amsterdam, back then in summer 2019, when we met her for the first time. Half a year after that well-spent afternoon in the iconic Red Light Radio, Van Anh, who is using her real name as an artist moniker, is verifying her DJ versatility she is known for. In this mix she is showing some glitchy breaks of her collection and her ability to layer them with ease. 
In the Netherlands, Van Anh runs an event organization Isotoop. As a crew, they are putting effort in organizing club nights, as the highlight of their activity may be considered the ‘Under The Stars’ festival, that took place in the Moroccan desert. 

On 9 April Isotoop will expand to Prague and will host a night in Meetfactory. Aside Peter Van Hoesen, Artefakt, Deniro, Multicast Dynamics and Van Anh herself, Alfred and Yan from our collective were also asked to join the roster. So, take this as a kind invitation from them and hopefully see you there!
