We're starting another great cocktail week with a two ingredient classic, the Vodka Soda! It happens to be the favorite cocktail of Qrion, one of the most in demand artists right now, who just released her debut album "i hope it lasts forever" on Anjunadeep.

Born and raised in the snowy city of Sapporo, Qrion began making her own sounds in high school as a hobby by using her phone. Taking inspiration from all the environments at her whim, Qrion’s signature sound oozes genuine artistry. She uses the noise of the world around her to create intimate songs anchored by energetic beats and lush synth textures. There’s a reason why she was named on Forbes Japan’s 30 Under 30 list: since the inception of her musical career, Qrion’s name has graced labels such as Anjunadeep, Sasha’s label Last Night On Earth, Mad Decent, and more. Beyond her profound original productions, like her collaborative Sapporo EP with Spencer Brown and her solo debut Sine Wave Party EP via Anjunadeep, Qrion proves her mettle as an excellent remixer, too. She’s lent her future-focused sound to artists such as Alina Baraz, Lane 8, Catching flies, TOKiMONSTA, and more to elevate a variety of songs across the spectrum of today’s hit music.
 
Ranging from soft, exquisite beats to ‘90s-adjacent dancefloor numbers, Qrion delivers a versatile flair to electronic music. Qrion has taken her release schedule to the next level releasing remixes for Gabriel & Dresden, Flownn, Trivecta, and a debut album release ‘I Hope It Lasts Forever’ on Anjunadeep. Qrion showcased her curation abilities with her Apple Music Pride 2021 Mix and partnered with Spotify to curate Qrion’s track IDs, a regularly updated playlist with more than 18,000 followers featuring her favorite tracks.
 
Gaining momentum like never before at the beginning of 2020, Qrion touched down in cities across North America on tour with Spencer Brown and for festival appearances at EDC Mexico and Groove Cruise in Miami. She has shared the stage with Above & Beyond, Porter Robinson, and deadmau5 in previous years and is set to embark her first headline album tour ‘I Hope It Lasts Forever’ fall of 2021.

The Anjunadeep Edition 281 with Qrion

Momiji Tsukada, better known as Qrion, was raised in the Japanese city of Sapporo and was introduced to traditional instrumental music in her early years by her late father. Finding a passion for music production, she explored different software as a teen and began to build a following on SoundCloud before developing a passion for performing as well.

Qrion often begins her musical creations by using organic sounds from the environment and then layering in electronic features to create stunning soundscapes. Since moving to San Francisco, her music has graced labels like Moving Castle and Anjunadeep and she's grown deep connections with artists like Spencer Brown as well. 

The past few years have seen Qrion grow her skills behind the decks as well with sets on Holy Ship and at Tomorrowland. She's also become a beloved addition to the lineup at Anjuna showcases around the world and her appearances at ABGT350 and Group Therapy Weekender were also sublime.

Originally a producer with roots in the ambient world, Qrion ventured into melodic house and techno not so long ago, and it’s become a personal attribute about herself, almost like a second language that she speaks fluently.
