"When we heard Pompeya for the first time and were told they were from Moscow, we were like: - What!? Are you kidding? This is probably the first Russian band singing in English with such a classy Brit touch and male vocal being very strong and sophisticated at the same time. They jestingly describe their style as “melodramatic popular song” and “Cheenese” is indeed a very dramatic piece with simple yet powerful composition and lyrics that really make BIG sense. The original is very well supported by a bunch of remixes each of which is unique on its own. An-2 & Samos come with a warm, relaxed and funky instrumental version which is followed by a blockbuster mix from Moscow disquo maestro Leonid Lipelis (an entirely perfect dance version of the original that could ever exist) and finally, for those few sirs and mesdames who are not yet aesthetically satisfied and who still find themselves seated while others jump and shout, here come D-Pulse with their ‘Paranoid’ mix that gathers the thunderclouds to the full darkness and - at the end - lets the revival sunbeams break through" - Theomatic Records.

An avatar (Sanskrit: अवतार, IAST: avatāra), a concept in Hinduism that means "descent", is the material appearance or incarnation of a deity on earth. The relative verb to "alight, to make one's appearance" is sometimes used to refer to any guru or revered human being. The word avatar does not appear in the Vedic literature, but appears in verb forms in post-Vedic literature, and as a noun particularly in the Puranic literature after the 6th century CE. Despite that, the concept of an avatar is compatible with the content of the Vedic literature like the Upanishads as it is symbolic imagery of the Saguna Brahman concept in the philosophy of Hinduism.

I am an artist now living in Jacksonville Florida and I have been listening to electronic music since the early days of Tangerine Dream. They were the group whose music most shaped my current taste. In 1985 Patrick O'Hearn came out with 'Ancient Dreams' and in 1989 Michael Pluznick came out with 'Where the Rain is Born' The synth work, percussion, and deeply layered atmospheres on those two cd's captivated me for years. Then in 1993 an explosion seemingly occurred-Young American Primitive came out with his work , Future Sound of London came out with Accelerator and Global Communication with their remix of Chapterhouse 'Pentamerous Metamorphosis' and suddenly this wonderful music was everywhere. I love this music. It puts me in a place I would otherwise not be able to visit.It has been a kind of elegant and secret passport to that place where I find inspiration for my art.  This music is for me a wellspring from which I drink daily. It is always exciting to discover a new artist or find a new track. On Soundcloud I can communicate a bit with the artists themselves which is always thrilling. None of my own peers are into what I listen to. If I go to a social gathering-ie. play poker with some friends if they see me pull out a cd that I have burnt they just put up their hands and make crosses as though they are warding off dracula from sucking the life out of them. I need to find a better card game.
So I am most grateful to the Soundcloud people-the artists and the followers and those who comment. It is nice to know others even in an abstract and surreal way-that is where I seem to hang the most comfortably anyways. Nice to almost know you.
As a postscript to this I have now uploaded a great deal of my artwork onto Flickr where my screen name is offshore geometries. Enjoy.
