Dr. Katherine Sherif is the Professor & Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University. Dawn Mader is the owner of the company, "Epic Consultative Services, LLC", where she is the Chief Education Officer and lead consultant. She also consults with the Delaware Department of Education for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Dawn and Dr. Sherif joined the show to further talk about an experience Dawn encountered at a doctor's visit, where she was forced to show up to her appointment later than expected due to the long check-in line in front of the doctor's office (the office was understaffed). The doctor gave Dawn a hard time about being “late” and Dawn very calmly told the doctor that she would reschedule if needed. Dawn said that the doctor did not expect a Black woman to speak the way that she (Dawn) did, and that the doctor backed down and was courteous. Dawn further talks about how to deal with medical professionals to ultimately get what you need.
