Guest Mixes

Had the honor of playing alongside, Khonjo Kolio, on Day 2 of the Kilele Summit.
Dominated by call-and-response patterns layered on a rhythmic shaker sound that's reminiscent of hi-hats, Khonjo Kolio sound sets the foundation for this compilation.

It goes further to showcase how some of the influences 
from East Africa's coastal strip are manifested in music from around the world today.

Had the honor of playing alongside, Khonjo Kolio, on Day 2 of the Kilele Summit. 
Inspired by the band's coastal roots, I curated this opening set to serve as a teaser of what the region has to offer. 
The 20-minute intro features elements prominent in Khonjo Kolio's sounds, dating as far back as 1950's Zanzibar, to the genesis of Swahili Pop. All this is merged with contemporary influences, showcasing the enduring legacy of East Africa's coastal music.

Ushered in my favourite month of the year exploring gratitude as a theme with Le Bois Sacré. This set speaks to love, loss, and the lessons in between, friends, family, and growth.
I sought to create a space that welcomes the audience to introspectively walk through their interpretation of gratitude by using atmospheric sounds.
