Tenzella provides three heaters for his debut release on Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave imprint. The UK producer kicks things off with lead track ‘Direction’, a Detroit inspired roller with intoxicating synths pads and loopy vocal.  Next up ’Dazed’, keeping things interesting with it’s clashing 909 claps and heavy rolling groove. The EP closes with ‘Blizzard’, a slice of peak time techno, driven by module bleeps.

Premiere: Tenzella - Direction

Redimension is the label project of Joseph Capriati and is run as a platform to champion music that showcases the more underground side of his taste in techno. Along with tracks from the label boss himself, it’s also featured contributions from Adam Beyer, Anthony Parasole, Flavio Folco and Rino Cerrone.

Now on its sixth release, the labels latest EP is from Klaudia Gawlas, a leading lady in the world of techno who plays DJ gigs all over Europe and other parts of the world. Her skills behind the decks and crowd reading abilities are second to none, and those honed skills have translated into the explosive tracks she produces.

Working with a great number of highly respected record labels she has consistently proven herself to be a skilled producer, and she delivers the goods once again with a stunning four track EP of dark and thundering techno.

“The Siren” opens the show with crunching percussion and acid pulses that grow with ominous tension, whilst the dance floor focused framework of the mechanical groove ensures maximum impact. Fast and ferocious, this hard-hitting cut takes no prisoners with a menacing sound.

Keeping the same tough vibe, “Lightnings” is second on the EP with fast flowing hi-hats, clap rhythms, and hypnotic synth work. The eerie atmosphere present in this immersive cut of ground shuddering techno adds to its overall exhilaration of the track’s aggressive style.

Track three “Niet” focuses in on a sensual vocal layered over a tough percussive groove, which combine to create a captivating eloquence both unnerving and alluring. Distinctive and full of personality, there is no doubt that for many DJ’s this will be the main attraction of the EP.

Closing proceedings is “The Whirl” that uses an arpeggiated lead synth to create an uplifting mood to this otherwise sinister cut. Unrelenting in its onslaught, the invigorating strength of the tracks up-tempo and energetic momentum is like a tsunami of sound.

Slam have started a sub division of their Soma Records label called Soma Track Series which sees the duo going back to their Chicago-inspired roots and to kick things off their Techno bomb 'Make You Move' is quickly making waves with clubbers and DJs alike! 

The buzz gathered steam when it was picked up early by Ben Klock who dropped it at Fabric London and then posted a video clip of the Room 2 reaction. It has since been road tested by an elite force of the world's leading Techno DJs including Len Faki, Blawan, Adam Beyer, Dave Clarke and Carl Cox and has since crossed over into the box of fellow Glaswegian Jackmaster.

Adding to previous 12“es on Ostgut Ton and his own RK label fellow Neuköllner and Berghain resident Kobosil offers four new uncompromising Techno club tools.

While all cuts on the 105 release share filthy, stone-cold, elemental rhythms – pounding, energetic and hypnotic 4/4 kick drum slaps – the devil is, like with all Kobosil productions, in the aesthetic details. “40000 L” uses gargling synth patterns and howling horns to dramatic effect; “Bei Nacht H (178)” contrasts the kick with a harsh, tinny drumbeat and menacing melody pad, creating a nightmarish vibe.
“Backmask N” on B1 offers heavily alienated vocal samples alongside rave-reminiscing synth stabs and staggered hi-hat percussion. “Derange” closes this four-tracker with grainy drone echoes and throbbing, sizzling synth pulses.

Adding to Kobosil’s full-floor-focussed sonic repertoire 105 shows him from his darkest and most vigorous side yet – this 12“ is a brute, in the most positive sense.

Twelve months on from his outstanding debut album on Drumcode ‘Transmission’, Julian Jeweil returns with a stellar five-track EP.

Since his label debut in 2017 with EPs ‘Rolling’ and ‘Space’, Julian Jeweil has confirmed his place as one of Drumcode’s most vital artists. He’s been a mainstay of label events, playing the main stage of Drumcode Festival in both 2018 and 2019, Drumcode Halloween in ‘19 and multiple showcases at Watergate in Berlin. ‘Transmission’, his maiden LP, dropped in January 2019 and was an early year highlight, reinforcing his production nous.

Inspired by his experiences touring off the back of the album, ‘Schema’ EP offers up a quintuplet of cuts showcasing the rawer and ravier side of the Frenchman’s sound. The title track is an immersive roller, primed for a Sunday session at Berghain. ‘Outline’ ups the intensity with cascading synth effects and galloping beats. ‘Music’ is the delicious brain-scrambler thanks to its intoxicating brew of shuffling beats, vox and swirling acid. ‘Axis’ is a slam dunk of industrial bass and 303s that builds to a grin-inducing climax. ‘Landscape’ plunges the atmosphere into deeper territory, still propelled by a pummeling bass and acidic inflections.

While on a recent holiday in Germany Christian managed to sneak away from his family a few times and make two tracks with Eric Sneo. "Line of Descent" is an E-Dancer Detroit inspired melodic affair. Lush strings, analog synths, and a phat bassline carry this track forward. "Ride The Waves" is a relentless, shuffled peak time track. Chicago legend DJ Rush was on the vocals while Christian and Eric built an infective groove around it.
